Location, it's quiet and clean.
The option of the suite with a king and 2 queens was fantastic. We're a family of 4 with two teens who would rather not share a bed. Finally - something well priced to accomodate that.
The location is convenient to both calgary and airdrie. Very close to cross iron mall for shopping. The hot breakfast was typical, sausage, eggs, tater tots. My kids loved the pool and water slide.

Horrible Hotel. Rude greeting staff. Nice leaving staff. Breakfast had to do a sign in like we were criminals. Pool and hot tub out of commission when I called directly 2 days prior to confirm and was told they were in commission and no problems.

Top Tips
- Select a courtyard or rear-facing room to minimize highway noise from the QEII, especially during weekday commute times (06:00-09:00 and 16:00-18:00). This is a frequent guest request at Airdrie hotels due to proximity to Highway 2, and staff can often support room changes if made before check-in.
- Consider using Airdrie as a value base for Calgary events. Downtown Calgary is about 26-33 km (25-35 minutes by car) from central Airdrie in typical traffic. Many major hotel chains in Airdrie offer complimentary parking, supporting cost-effective trips to the city.
- Benefit from Alberta’s low hotel taxes: only 5% federal GST applies, with no provincial sales tax. For longer stays, this can create notable savings versus other provinces where combined hotel tax rates often reach 10-15%.
- Use refillable water bottles, as Airdrie’s municipal tap water meets provincial standards and is considered safe, eliminating single-use bottle costs (about $1.50-$3.00 CAD per bottle). Many chain hotels offer lobby water stations for guest use.
- Wildfire smoke may impact air quality here in July-August. Check Alberta Wildfire and Environment Canada AQHI before booking. Most modern hotels offer filtered air in public spaces; if sensitive, request a room with enhanced air filtration or bring an N95 mask.
- Allow 35-45 minutes to reach Calgary International Airport (YYC) from Airdrie; distance is about 45-55 km. In winter or peak hours, plan for 60-90 minutes. Several hotels provide airport shuttle information at check-in; confirm this service as most require advance booking.
- Most Airdrie chain hotels include free parking and breakfast, saving roughly $8-$12 CAD per person per day. Confirm these inclusions when booking to maximize value, especially if traveling as a family or group.
- If relying on public transit, plan ahead: Airdrie has no direct rail to Calgary, and regional bus schedules are intermittent. Check current Airdrie Transit and On-It schedule details online before travel.
- Call ahead to confirm accessibility features such as step-free access or visual alarms, large-vehicle parking, and pet policies. Pet fees typically range $15 to $25 CAD per night; Alberta hotels often expect guests to keep pets leashed in public areas.
