Pros +
- Resort was very nice. Food excellent with plenty of choice. Staff were generally good and friendly. Rooms were adequate but not outstanding. Grounds of resort were immaculate. Beach and waterspouts also very good.
- Food was very good.
- Unbelievable hospitality from all staff members, food was delicious, drinks were always cold and made well, entertainment team made each day unforgettable with games and live shows at night, perfect for couples as most guests are there with a partner celebrating honeymoons or anniversary’s.
Cons -
- Very disappointed that you had to get up ridiculously early to secure a sunbed with a shade. This was so annoying as we were getting up earlier on holiday than we do at home. Also a lot of reserved beds were then left unused all day. Be good for Sandals to stop this practice and find a system which stops so much angst and moaning from their guests.
- Perfume was stolen from my girlfriend's perfume bottle on two separate occasions while we were out of the room.Hotel security said they conduced an investigation but as no staff member admitted to taking this, which clearly they wouldn't, they considered it 'inconclusive' and would therefore take no responsibility. We only realised as when we returned the first time the bathroom smelt heavily of the perfume, the bottle was completely clear unlike some perfumes, and it had been purchased brand new at the airport so having 1/4 missing each time was really noticeable. We took a photo after the first occasion and within 24 hours it did not go down again so we know there was no leak, then as we were out of the room another day there was again another 1/4 missing when we returned. It is highly likely that this type of theft is happening all the time and most people do not realise, I certainly wouldn't have spotted any of my aftershave missing given I had owned it for a while and the bottle is fairly opaque. It is also especially worrying that even after we raised our concerns to the security team the first time that this happened again within a few days and they still refused to accept any responsibility or even treat this with any seriousness.
- It is a long and rough drive (2hrs) from the international airport, although there is a helicopter shuttle offered that cuts it down to 15 minutes but it will cost extra. We also felt some of the restaurants especially dessert could have stayed open slightly later. The closing times coincide with the nightly show times making it difficult to enjoy both.

Great location, fabulous settings with gorgeous beach. Very friendly staff who will do everything to please the customers.
Proximity to the sea in a beautiful location. Comfortable rooms, never feeling crowded.
Dining at Gordon’s. CJ was the best member of staff by a mile. In fact pretty much the only one who tried to shine.
A run down resort, staffed in the main by people who seemed to resent their jobs and were rude to the guests. The volume of the music and tannoy from the pool area was intolerable, we asked for another room, but had the same issue with the next one. With the windows closed we still needed noise cancelling headphones to nap in the day. Things were superficially clean, but a general griminess prevailed. The stand out issue though was the sullen attitude of many of the staff who seemed to view the guests as the “enemy”.
Resort is fine and meets your requirements
This was a special occasion and was noted at the time of booking, but nothing special was done by the staff to make us feel that we were important
The stunning views, swim up bar and socializing with amazing couples, cultural food options and the friendliness of male staff members
Female staff was mostly curt and short with usA little pushy with spa sells
Property kept very clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. Shuttle service to and from UVF was really appreciated.
1. No variety for breakfast- same menu for the 4 days we were there.2. Staff took every opportunity to try to upsell additional services to us, of course, at an additional cost.3. Lobby bar hours very limited- should be opened earlier for guests who do not want to be by the noisy pool bar.4. Had to pay in full ahead of arrival, with the only option being non-refundable. Does not sit well among a post-pandemic traveller.
Not much to like actually… except the maid was lovely..
Very tired around our swim up room and that was overpriced too! Swim up from where? its just a room that has a pool outside… anyway needed some TLC.This type of hotel really wasn’t for us - it was more like a spring break party… We should have guessed being all inclusive but it really was just wall to wall drinkers from 10am. The bars and beach restaurants closed at 5 or 6 as the majority had left after a busy day flexing their elbow! They boasted of having 12 restaurants… but most are little cafes serving the same thing and the a la carte Restaurants were so busy that we managed to get a reservation on one night out of 5. Even then we cancelled and went to stay at another hotel further down the island. Learned a lesson. But if you want wall to wall drinking and all inclusive you can go to better places for away under half the price!
Our first stay at Sandals The Grand in 2018 was much better.Staff were inconsistent in their treatment of us.The business centre was closed so you can’t print out your Travel pass documents. Our booking for Gordon’s restaurant was never entered. We ended up waiting for 20 minutes before they decided to give us a table. The restaurant was not crowded.A staff member refused to serve me a coconut on the beach. She said the coconuts are way past the bar. I could go on.Alcoholic drinks are watered down. Prosecco is terrible served warm.
The drop in standards. No longer a 5 Star hotel.
good facilities and so many options for activities etcPlenty of choices for food and all tasted very goodwell designed layout of the resort, never felt overcrowded
Room amenities were ok, body wash etc wasn’t replenished. generally staff were very friendly but occasionally some were abrupt and felt like we were an inconvenience when asking questions or clarifying anything.
The resort was amazing, being a larger property there was plenty of room. We had a lovely quiet spot on the beach well away from the hubbub at the pool (which was also fun occasionally). Service was great and the food amazing.Full credit to the reception staff, bell boys and gardeners
Nothing - it was ideal.
We LOVED our week here! Staff are INCREDIBLE! Everyone is in love and happy. The food is great. The drinks are great. The tours are so much fun and well organised. The entertainment is brilliant. Would recommend to ANYONE for an incredibly fun honeymoon/ anniversary/ birthday etc.
There was very little not to like. A slight hiccup with arranging getting our bags to the airport when we took the helicopter but in their defence we booked it very last minute and it all worked out fine in the end. And the helicopter tour was incredible!
