Pros +
- Friendly, affordable classic VT bnb. The best continental breakfast ever because they offered the highest quality products. Nice place for dinner, located by a river in a hamlet with sidewalks. 15 min from Jay Peak m

- Dinner in restaurant was excellent.
Cons -
- We were in the annex. Family next to us was loud late into the night. Thin walls. Very fortunate. Not a good experience
- The restaurant was closed in the summer until October? My key was left with my name + reference numbers. No human contact, until of course I had issues. The lovely lady responded in person quickly and absolved any problems I had. No air conditioning. Luckily the evening was in the 50°'s so I opened the windows. Then I was put into the side building, not the historic building. The property just barely met my expectations, because of the lack of exposure as well
- The beds were not comfortable. Antique furniture to fit the style is great, but the bed felt very old for the cost of the room on a holiday weekend. The breakfast was just coffee, yogurt, and a fresh bread (which was delicious, but was down to one slice when we arrived at 8am) so certainly wouldn't say it was worth the built in cost for a "continental breakfast." The property did handle it quickly, but the walls are paper thin. The guests sharing the unit with us were wildly rude. The children were running up and downstairs constantly, the lit a fire (unsure if it was an inside fireplace or outdoor), but our room stunk of fire and not in a good way for an entire evening. The kids and parents were yelling so constantly it really took away from the environment. Again, the owners did handle this and have them quiet down for our 3rd night, but the lack of insulation between rooms was really bad. We could hear entire conversations from the other guests while they were in the tub in their room from our bed. And the tub had jets that made such a deep reverberating sound in our room we had to leave it was so hard to handle.

I love the location. I loved the gazebo. The one person I encountered once I called upon them was very helpful + friendly.

The B&B mostly lived up to what we expected. Rustic, antique furniture, and decor all made sense to the facility. However, the one end table in our bedroom was on the verge of collapsing if you put a drink on it. The water pressure / flow made washing your hair very challenging, but not totally unexpected from an older property. The B&B check in process was easy and accommodating since we arrived much later than expected. The location was close to Jay Peak which made for a convenient ski weekend and was only about a five minute drive from the small downtown to find food options.

The breakfast was very sparse ... 3 muffins and yogurt... coffee and tea
Communication with owner was difficult When we got to hotel, there was a key to a B4 room which we could not find. Turns out there was supposed to be written directions to go to house next door that is part of the Black Lantern property ... our B4 room was in that house. Very sparse cellular power so could not call/text owner.... finally drove about 1 mile away and gained more bars on phone and communicated with owner ... received directions and checked into our room.
The property was very quant, pretty and quiet. Had a lot of charm. Continental breakfast was good, strong coffee, fruit juice, yogurt, muffin and water served in the main building. Not large but enough and well presented.
It was a hot day, no air conditioning in room. There was a small fridge, but no water. A jug of water would have been great. Also tea/coffee in room as the main building was closed. Restaurant was closed on our day so no access to any food or drinks (we were on a motorcycle) so very inconvenient to get back into town on such a hot day. Location is not in the town. The bathroom needed new silicone in bath/shower as it was black….Fresh modern summer linen would improve the overall look and feel of this room.TV was hard to work out, and volume button didn’t work, hard to hear because we had to have a fan on high cause it was so hot! We didn’t read the fine print on the restaurant/bar being closed on certain days when we booked which would have changed the whole experience for us.There were no other guests so we felt a bit abandoned. Briefly saw one person on arrival for the key and got the tv working.
Place and bar/ restaurant
Problem with keys No room dress every dayFound things from previous guests. No cleaning
Friendly, nice rooms, good parking
Setting Nice continental breakfastClose to ski
The room was comfortable. I ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive.
It was a little difficult finding my room as it wasn't in the main building and the other building had no sign. I was also unable to figure out how to work the Keurig coffee-maker. I often find them confusing to use and they waste resources with individual coffee pods. I ended up buying coffee somewhere else.
Very lovely over 200 year old Inn. Nice accomodations. Great restaurant in the building. Very fun look into the past and lovely people.
Our room had a small fridge, but not all rooms did. There was no air conditioning, not a problem in September and rooms did have fans.
The room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Location is fairly convenient to Jay Peak. We enjoyed our stay, overall.
Room should have been called the 'ladybug suite' given how many occupied the space. Breakfast was minimalist. Wifi service was spotty at best. Minimal amenities for an upmarket price.
The dinner we had was Awesome.
The continental breakfast was awful. Dry muffins and yogurt. Slim picking. Usually there are at least scrambled eggs and other proteins at most continental type breakfasts.
Great location. The restaurant was outstanding. Great meals. The breakfast could have been a little heartier like maybe putting out toaster for English muffins or toast with peanut butter or oatmeal.
More room cleaning during stay (e.g. empty trash basket, restock wood, etc.)
Continental breakfast was simple but tasty. coffee hot and strong. the pub area is the perfect location to start the day, and the dining room (we didn't dine there) is inviting and rustic.check-in was a breeze and the innkeeper was friendly and welcoming.
We went to dinner in Montgomery Center and returned (~ 7 pm) to a full parking lot, owing to diners. I had to park on the street and then go out to move my car when the lot emptied out. Not a huge deal, and not sure what you can do about it, but on a frigid night in the dead of winter, i would not have been happy.
The location was lovely, lots of autumn colour, scenery and a bit off the beaten track so away from the crowds
Unfortunately aside from the location and free parking, we didn't particularly enjoy our stay at the Inn.It was shabby and rundown, with no information at all about anything! Just a key with our name on it.There were a number of things that we weren't happy about, but we didn't contact the owners so didn't give them the opportunity to put things right. We just felt very unwelcome as it was obviously the end of the season and we did wonder if they had taken our reservation in error!
Location not too far from Enosburg, the beautiful historical building
The windows do not close at all. Lots of noise from the street, we froze as the nights were still cold, the shower is pretty run down and hard to operate, the refrigerator has been intolerably rusty and needs to be replaced. Breakfast in the large history room was charming yet really basic. We were told that the food in the restaurant used to be great. But we were unluckily unable to try as the chef sadly fell ill.
location and scenery. quiet
house made noise
Very friendly staff. Someone drove into pole & knocked out the power for the evening. So, spent the evening talking with them and a few patrons in the candlelight over a few pints. Surprising, but fun evening.
