Hampton Inn Richmond-Mechanicsville

Close to the event that I was attending.

When I arrived, i found out that they were remodeling the location. So I had to get a different type of room.

Location and breakfast

My room was nonsmoking but smelled of smoke

Room was very clean and comfortable. I stayed here a few years ago while it was under renovation. Very nice improvements, especially the bathroom.

Shade on window could not be pulled down to keep early morning light out,refrigerator did not work, water from shower leaks onto bathroom (definitely not good for a handicapped person) and the sink had a big Crack in it.The funny.

The room was decent

They had renovations going all the time. The music was way too loud from the workers. Staff was so-so....Alot of things did NOT go smoothly. Way overpriced for the stay....

Bedding was clean and comfortable, lobby was nice. Excellent breakfast choices and the eating area was clean. Overall, the hallways and rooms need updating.

Pool was closed due to renovations and I was not informed this when I booked. Musty oder in the rooms - ice machine was not working on our floor and when I when to the other floor there was clearly mold on the ceiling.

the bathroom met our needs, was very spaceous and easy for my wife to use.

Convenient location to shopping, banking and food. Staff was pleasant and served a nice breakfast. Thumbs up all around!

When you drive in after dark on the side road there is no easily visible signage. There is nothing on the door area to say what hotel it is. The sign on the street is blocked by something. Hard to find.Even for our Uber driver.

The beds, the pillows, the sheets, and how clean the bathroom and room was. Staff was very very nice. Breakfast was good; pool was clean and well -maintained.

The 2nd floor hallway was damp and smelled like mold. They had portable dehumidifiers/fans but they were not that helpful. The hair dryer smoked and smelled of electrical fire when turned on. The iron did not work. Not what I expected from this chain

The breakfast was too ordinary.

I like the 24hr coffee by the front desk. I liked the breakfast choices. The rest was all just sub-par or a basic expectation that should always be met.

There were many little things that made this an unpleasant overall experience. The single ply scratch toilet paper in the bathroom. The pool was chemically over-treated. The staff was often not at the desk.

The room was clean and updated;and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

The free breakfast did not offer any yogurt or fresh fruit.

The breakfast buffet ran out of items before it closed.

The manager and the whole team were very kind,any request we did they helped us right away.5 stars

The people at the reception desk. They were very helpful and happy.

The front desk staff but I'm not sure- was super friendly and so helpful! My parents stayed at the same time and they had a staff member was also wonderful!

We liked the location best about the hotel.

We were disappointed that the pool was closed.

It was clean, inviting, with friendly staff.
