    Pros +

    • The lady who made breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The purpose of the trip was to house hunt, she was very informative about the area. Great breakfast!
    • Beautiful historic inn! Innkeeper was very nice and helpful! If I am ever back in the area, I would definitely stay there again!
    • Very pleasant, nicely appointed rooms. The price was great for our trip and they even gave us an upgrade for which we were grateful. Innkeeper was knowledgeable and welcoming.

    Cons -

    • Room thermostat was in the connecting room, so I could not adjust it myself. However, innkeeper was good to adjust it with discussion with other guest, so temperature was good for me. So if picky about room temperature, then mention when booking room.
    • Our room lacked independent air conditioning thermostat for room, so one night we were at the mercy of our neighbor who kept it a little too cold for our liking.
    • I had no control over the air conditioning temperature and it was too cold overnight and in morning. But….there was a great warm blanket in the armoire that kept me warm enough for a great night’s sleep!

The owner of the inn went out of his way to make sure we were taking very good care of.

John is exceptionally welcoming — and knowledgeable about the location and history of this beautiful mansion. Linda was warm, hospitable, and clearly proud of this beautiful property. My room was well appointed, comfortable, and convenient to the amenities. I cannot say enough about the bed! Room darkening drapes, cool temps and a wonderful mattress..best sleep ever away from home!

I had no control over the air conditioning temperature and it was too cold overnight and in morning. But….there was a great warm blanket in the armoire that kept me warm enough for a great night’s sleep!

Excellent breakfast, beautiful period decor, hosts were exceedingly helpful and accommodating, very peaceful..

The innkeeper John was very conscientious and attentive. He served our breakfast and shared information about the area.

The temp in our room was quite cool. It was fine once we were in bed, but quite chilly when showering and dressing. He admittted that the weather had just turned cool and he had yet to adjust for heating.

John who ran the inn was wonderful. He served a wonderful breakfast every morning and was so kind. The room was so nice and comfortable. We were very pleased and would stay there again.

Everything was great. Property, manager, employees were great. Very confortable and beautiful building well kept as well as the garden area, the wood work in the living areas was just great well kept wood, dark wood, stair case everything

Breakfast was varied but the Farmer John link sausage should be upgraded.

Beautiful historic accommodations in a great location. Our room was very pleasant. The host here very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful in a beautiful dining room.

The location was perfect. We did not get to experience the breakfast because my wife had a doctors appointment at 8:30 and breakfast wasn’t served till 7:30.

Only one comfortable chair in the room and one desk chair.

Pros: A charming, plantation-style manse with the big columns. We stayed in a ground floor room that was very spacious (it was meant for patrons with mobility issues). Our host was gracious. The breakfast was delicious, a combination of buffet (including Pop Tarts!) and eggs cooked to order with sausages. Location was great -- not so far off the highway. And for some reason, the price was the same as some of the big soulless corporate hotels (though I'm pretty sure that the price would go up when there's a PGA event in town). All around, a really nice stay!

The only con I can think of is the bed was firmer than we like. That's personal preference, of course, but I think Lookaway would do well to invest in even a 2-3 inch memory foam mattress pad. But honestly, that's my only beef.

    Cozy, safe, quiet and clean.

The old charme, stylish but comfortable. Staff very kind.

    9NataliePosted on: 7-16-2024

    We love the friendly staff!

Had issues w the toilet leaking and it was hot in our room but overall we love this place.

    10KimPosted on: 6-18-2024

Beautiful antique B&B! Everything was excellent. Breakfast was made to order eggs, sausage and toast with fruit, with a good variety of breads and pastries also available.

    10KarenPosted on: 6-14-2024

What did I like? EVERYTHING. This place is stunning, gorgeous lovely. I absolutely loved it and wish we had more than one night. Check in was super simple John sent us a text before we arrived with greeting and parking location. The Inn is beautiful and our room was pretty and very comfortable. There is a lovely courtyard for relaxing right outside our door. The grounds are immaculate and then the inside will take your breath away elegant best describes . Breakfast choices were plentiful and they even whipped up eggs and sausage for us and chatted with us like we’re were new friends There aren’t enough positive verbs for this place I felt special staying here. Highly highly recommend

My stay was too short! In my clumsiness and not paying attention I did fall on walkway. Distracted by a cardinal !

    10CharlesPosted on: 6-2-2024

Breakfast was very good, as was the location. John was pleasant and helpful in every way.

Small thing…no facial tissue in bathroom
