The historic town, local eateries, & walking area around the EMU campus.

The entry was difficult to find coming from the north, there was no signage for parking, the room lacked outlets. It would have been nice to see some of the historical information in the lobby.

Clean

YES - the breakfast was just horrible, they serve it the night before and leave it on ice -- a Wyndham sponsored property can do MUCH BETTER than that. Please have them change this issue. That said, the restaurant dinner at night was wonderful.

Good blend of being downtown within walking distance of restaurants, as well as staying in an updated historic building.

Parking was not specifically obvious that it can only be reached via main street. Just a little awkward the first time you arrive.

Nice hotel with great location in Mercersburg. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean.

Dirty hair and dust in bathroom. Put bath mat on floor and hair was on it.

The hotel was very quaint. There was nothing around but it really didn't matter because we were visting family the two days we were there. I wish that they had some kind of cable for the TV instead of a fire stick. We had a hard time trying to found regular TV stations. The resturant that is connected to the hotel was nice the food was fabulous.

Didn't care for the bed. My husband and I have a king size bed and the queen was hard to get used to.

Great stopover coming back north from Atlantic coast! Historic and charming hotel.

It was quant and Ramesh the concierge was very hospitable and accommodating.

The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was subpar. There was hair and dust on the floor that we had to clean up and the sink and bathroom mirror were not clean and the bed sheets were stained and had hair throughout. We arrived at 7:30pm after a two hour drive and had to address these issues before being able to rest unwind.

Clean quaint rooms and common areas. Friendly staff. Pretty bedding.

Would love if there was a coffee/tea station in the lobby area. But overall I still love the place.

Interesting old hotel in a sweet little colonial town

NO BREAKFAST as stated on their own website as well as on booking.com. Hot & cold water plumbed backwards. No place to plug in coffee maker.

Historical property and nicely remodeled

Breakfast was not provided despite their advertising it as being included. There is a nice breakfast place five buildings away. They seemed to know that their ads were wrong but they didn’t seem to know how to remedy the misinformation.

It's in an old building that was converted to an inn in the 1800's. The rooms and bathrooms have all been updated.

Very nice historic hotel! We were visiting a relative who lives in Mercersburg so we were happy that the James Buchanan Hotel was in town.

The Main Street in Hagerstown is a little noisy, but we had a room towards the back of the hotel which really helped.

Beautiful neighborhood and accommodations! The history of the hotel was very interesting.

Although listing noted breakfast... There was no breakfast.And shower never got hot . But... Beaufort hotel and surrounding area.

Door was locked with a sign on the door saying temporarily closed had to call the guy to let us in was pretty awkward honestly definitely did not fit up to expectations

Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Mercersburg. Very walkable area. Hotel also has an interesting history and the one staff member I chatted with (she does pretty much everything here) was well versed in the history. Room was clean + comfortable.

Trying to figure out how the tv service worked + waiting for connections was tedious. Also no comfortable sitting chair. Laying on the bed was only option.
