Location and price.
I enjoyed quaintness as reminded me of the old hotels my family stayed in while traveling in the 1960 and 1970¿s I like the floor plan but needs to be updated to newer furniture.

The staffing at the front desk was very courteous and prompt. We were tired and my card was not reading the chip (due to damaged card) and she patiently waited as I retrieved another card.

Nothing. We were much later than planned. There was a sign to ring a doorbell for assistance. No one answered. I had attempted to call the phone # in our itinerary much earlier to inform them of late arrival. No one answered. The phone # is for CA

Friendly staff and clean room
Liked the style concept but lacked the finished work and details. Sloppy finished trim work or none at all. I have stayed here 4 times 4 different rooms and all seem to be the same, easily could be finished to make them more presentable.

Decorating was nice in the room & cookies were a nice extra.
It is close to down town to walk and find dining, we enjoyed a top tier restaurant called Tmacs, we really appreciate that they give guests who are staying to visit inmates a discount. Incarnation is a leading contributor to families of inmates.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 2-3 weeks ahead for August-October stays in Boardman. Demand from agricultural harvest and Port of Morrow activity often makes last-minute rooms scarce, potentially raising prices by 20-30% compared to off-peak periods.
- Request a room away from I-84 and the Port of Morrow to reduce noise. Rooms facing the Columbia River or an interior lot can cut road and industrial noise exposure by 10-20 dB, as truck traffic runs 24/7.
- Confirm air conditioning and pool functionality before booking in July-August. Boardman's average highs reach 32-35°C (90-95°F) during these months; older economy motels may have less efficient units.
- Prioritize hotels that advertise oversized or truck parking if you are arriving in an RV or towing. Properties near the Port of Morrow and I-84 often accommodate larger vehicles; ask for exact stall dimensions when booking as full RV hookups are rare.
- Expect limited full-service hotel options; confirm specific amenities like breakfast, microwave/fridge, or laundry by name. Boardman's market is primarily roadside motels, so 24-hour onsite dining or business centers are not standard.
- Plan grocery and fuel stops in larger towns like Hermiston or Pendleton for more variety. While Boardman has basic options, larger supermarkets and chain services are 15-45 minutes away and more reliably stocked.
- Bring a carrier hotspot or confirm in-room wired internet options for critical remote work tasks. Mobile data is generally reliable along I-84, but in-room Wi-Fi speeds in roadside motels can be inconsistent.
- Confirm pet policies and fees in writing before booking. Several Boardman motels accept pets but typically add a per-night cleaning fee; request the exact fee as policies vary between economy properties.
- Expect low rainfall and water-conserving hotel practices during summer. Boardman's climate is low-precipitation, leading some properties to encourage towel reuse or offer limited housekeeping during peak season.
- Ask about late or 24-hour check-in and security lighting if arriving after 10 PM. Due to industrial shift schedules and highway travel patterns, properties vary in front-desk staffing and outdoor lighting for late arrivals.
