Large clean room
It was close to the highway though hotel room was clean but the service was poor. We got charged $200 for a smoking fee and we don¿t even smoke. They said there was cigarette butts in the sink which they probably plunged the bathtub and came out the sink

The breakfast was great; waffles, syrup, cream cheese, (fake eggs), sausage, beacon, yogurt, fruit - apples, tangerines, but no bananas, cereal but could not get the milks (2% and whole) to pour out of the container, pastries, & more - happy family!

Hotel employee. She was welcoming and friendly. Laundry
Staff were courteous & professional. The lady taking care of breakfast on Monday, Sept 30 did an exceptional job. It was obvious that she took pride in doing a good job. Check-in & check-out staff & the manager on site Monday were all great.

I paid for 2 nights prior to my arrival. I arrived and was given a room key. I opened the door and there were already people staying in the room. I was given another room on the 2nd floor. There were two young couples in the rooms across from mine.

Very Clean.
Great location, room was very clean..
They had a water machine so you could refill your mug and not have to use plastic to get filtered water! This is the first hotel where I saw this and I really appreciate it! I try really hard to avoid using plastic since it?s killing us all.

the gentleman that work in the kitchen in the morning. We stay at this hotel for the great pool. My son & DIL live in Marysville so we do not have to stay in a hotel, we do so because m granddaughter loves to swim and this hotel is her favorite pool.

Breakfast!
The room was very clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was okay but the "Holiday Inn" cinnamon rolls were not there. Instead, it seemed the cinnamon rolls were out of a cylinder and not iced (I was really looking forward to those HI cinnamon rolls!)
The staff were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The breakfast that they provided was a good start to the day. I was pleased it was not a continental breakfast but a warm meal, it saved me a stop for breakfast somewhere else.

Top Tips
- Book 4-6 weeks before the Champaign County Fair (mid-July) to secure rates from $85-$110. Room prices often climb 35-50% and many hotels sell out if you wait until the week of the fair. Directly compare rates for your dates.
- Always pay in USD with a foreign card at hotel check-in to avoid a 3-7% markup from dynamic currency conversion (DCC) on extras like parking. Select 'USD' on the payment terminal.
- Select hotels offering free shuttle service to Honda of America and save $15-$35 per round-trip on taxis. Shuttles typically run every 18-22 minutes at shift changes - confirm times at booking.
- If working remotely, confirm the hotel's Wi-Fi upload speeds; many average only 3-6 Mbps, which may not meet videoconference needs. Alternatively, Stratford Road Park’s free hotspot offers 15-22 Mbps and is open during daylight hours.
- Ask for step-free access when booking, as just 40% of Urbana hotels have full step-free entry. Call the front desk to verify roll-in showers and ADA lobby access, since online filters may miss details.
- Refill your bottle from the tap - Urbana's municipal water contains less than 0.002 mg/L lead (EPA limit: 0.015). This saves travelers $8-$15 in bottled water costs per stay and reduces plastic use.
- To minimize nighttime highway noise, choose hotels north of I-75 exit 74; these typically stay under 55 dBA, while southern locations can reach 65-70 dBA at night. Ask for a north-facing room whenever possible.
- For fewer sleep disruptions, choose upper floor rooms away from ice machines and vending, as 60% of guest noise complaints relate to these common areas. Rooms opposite stairwells reduce noise disturbances by 40-60%.
- Expect longer check-in waits (18-25 minutes) on Friday nights during Ohio State football weekends as fans travel from Columbus (45 mi east). To bypass lines, arrive before 3 PM or after Sunday 10 AM.
- Save 15-20% vs. extended-stay rates by booking standard rooms with laundry access instead - these typically cost $95-$110 per night. Confirm laundry hours at check-in.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$5 nightly in a labeled envelope for improved service attention - travelers see up to 40% greater cleanliness or supply replenishment. Leave the envelope in a visible spot each morning.
- Withdraw cash at Urbana Kroger ATM (311 E. Market St.) for no fee; hotel lobby ATMs often charge $4-$6 and other banks average $3.50 per withdrawal. Bring ID for larger withdrawals.
