Top Tips
- Book hotels 3-6 weeks in advance for Hartville Marketplace events, as rates often increase by 20-30% due to high demand. For more options, compare nearby hotels and check cancellation policies before booking.
- Confirm hotel Wi-Fi speed before booking if you plan to work remotely, as some motels near I-77 may offer speeds under 5 Mbps. Request a speed test at check-in if reliability is essential.
- Fill your gas tank in Canton or Akron before late arrivals to Uniontown, as 24-hour gas stations are scarce near rural hotels. Ask hotel staff for the nearest open station if needed.
- Save on resort fees of $15 per night by choosing independent motels off State Route 43 instead of chain hotels near Route 619. Check directly with the property to confirm there are no extra fees.
- Request 10-15% discounts for midweek (Tuesday-Thursday) or multi-night stays at B&Bs. These offers are often unlisted online, so contact the property directly to confirm availability and rate.
- Ask for an upper-floor room at highway-adjacent motels to reduce overnight truck noise by about 50% (10 PM-5 AM). If sensitive to sound, bring earplugs or request a room away from the road.
- Verify air conditioning reliability in older motels during summer, as window units may underperform when temperatures exceed 85°F (29°C). Ask staff about maintenance or alternate cooling options if concerned.
- Book 21 or more days in advance for hotels along the I-77 corridor to access rates that are 15-30% lower than last-minute prices. Early booking also improves room choice availability during peak months.
- Select hotels north of State Route 173 to avoid 8-12 minute traffic delays during TimkenSteel Canton shift changes at 5:45-6:15 AM and 3:30-4:15 PM. Plan your commute accordingly to minimize disruption.
- If reliable Wi-Fi is essential, confirm your Uniontown hotel offers at least 25 Mbps; only 40% of properties meet this threshold. Test connection speed upon arrival if remote work or streaming is planned.
- Request a room above ground floor to avoid musty odors from seasonal basement moisture, which affects about 60% of pre-2005 hotels in the area. Notify staff promptly if you detect air quality issues.
- Use PNC or Huntington ATMs within 1.5 miles to limit foreign card surcharges to $2.50 or less. Hotel or generic ATMs may charge $3.50-$5 per withdrawal; confirm local bank ATM locations with your hotel’s front desk.
- When paying, always choose USD on card terminals to avoid dynamic currency conversion markups, which average 4.2-6.8% above interbank rates. Ask for a breakdown if you are unsure which option is selected.
- Look for hotels advertising step-free entrances, as only 60% of Uniontown properties are fully ADA entrance compliant. Confirm ramp access and accessible room features when booking.
- Uniontown tap water meets EPA standards, so you can skip bottled water and save $1.50-$3 per bottle. Refill a reusable bottle to reduce waste during your stay.
- Expect a total lodging tax of 9.5-10.5% in Uniontown, with some online rates showing pre-tax prices only. Compare final totals before confirming to avoid surprise charges at checkout.
- Book 120 days ahead for the Stark County Fair or Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement in August, as rates can increase 25-40% and availability becomes limited. Set a calendar reminder for early reservations.
- Book midweek (Sunday to Thursday) to enjoy hotel rates 20-30% lower than weekends. If your dates are flexible, compare both options to maximize savings.
- Verify your hotel's total cost before booking, as hidden resort fees may add $15-$25 per night. Contact the property or review the booking confirmation for a detailed fee breakdown.
- Stay within a 5-minute walk of Uniontown Square for quick dining, shopping, and local sights access. Ask your hotel about local highlights or accessibility to popular venues.
- Book at least 3-4 weeks ahead during October's fall foliage season or local festivals, as hotel rates may rise by up to 30%. Monitor hotel booking windows if you plan to attend specific events.
- Withdraw cash from local bank ATMs to limit transaction fees, as hotel ATMs can charge up to $5 per withdrawal. Ask hotel staff for directions to the nearest bank machine.
- If accessibility is important, confirm in advance whether your hotel offers ramp access, wide doorways, or accessible bathrooms. Many older properties may have limited features.
- Pack layers for Uniontown's unpredictable weather, as temperatures and precipitation can change quickly in any season. Check the local forecast 1-2 days before your trip for precise planning.
- Confirm your hotel's pet policy before booking, as some may restrict certain breeds or charge up to $50 per night. Request written confirmation of pet allowances and fees if traveling with animals.
- Consider joining hotel loyalty programs for exclusive perks such as up to 15% off, free breakfast, or late checkout. Check registration requirements in advance to maximize your benefits.
