Pros +
- Absolutely nothing!
- Convenient and did not need to do two nights to stay there
- Price
Cons -
- Disgusting. Rundown, dirty, outer doors don’t lock. Shady characters hanging around. There was, what looked like old blood dripping on the curtains. The pictures on the website are totally inaccurate. This place is at least 50 years old and reflects that.
- A little run down bathroom could use help paintef over rust which looks like mold
- Safety is not a factor. The outside door locks are disassembled, anyone can walk in. Pool is slimy and the floor around it. Scolding hot hose in the hot tub, burning my children when they picked it up. Room doors propped open & window wide open with -20°F

Great location and budget hotel. Enjoyed having the pool and hot tub after a long hike.
Beds are very clean and ultra comfortable. Sheets are hotel quality and soft, AC is great. Room has a medium size refrigerator
Main reason for choosing this hotel was the hot tub and sauna. Perfect for sore legs after long days if hiking. Both were out of order. Also, they stopped serving breakfast altogether. Very disappointed.
Old worn out hotel. Badly needs renovations or a tear down. Room decor from 40-50years ago. Signs of mold forming by shower, paint peeling etc. Ad misleading, indoor pool not open and no breakfast even though it said so
The location is good, but you need a car.
when booking, I opted for a place with a pool, with breakfast included and a microwave in the room. once there, the pool is non-functional. there is no breakfast on site. no microwave in the room.
That it was close to Lake Placid
The pool was down for a mechanical issue, there was no protein source provided with the hot breakfast.
This hotel was located very close to the Olympic ski jump and pretty close to town also.
The place is a little dated and the breakfast was just ok, but can?t expect too much for the price.
Reasonably quiet.
Room 107. The sliding door lock to the outside would not stay locked! The bed was lumpy and very soft. The coffee pot was connected to an extension cord which was not plugged into the wall (behind the desk). No maid service to the room after 1st night.
Location
Lady at the counter was rude, room was dirty and claimed they had a breakfast and all there was, was coffee
Very affordable.
I would prefer microwaves in the rooms, but there is a microwave available in a common area in the second floor of the hotel. The only available beverage vending machine did not work.
Double queen room is spacious
Stained Bedsheets, no microwave in room, cold breakfast in a dark room with dirty tables
Hot tub did not work, it was cold. Room had an odd scent. Breakfast was a pancake machine.
I was anticipating a ?you get what you pay for? experience, and it actually exceeded my expectations. Clean, pleasant, comfortable for a two-night stay. Surprisingly quiet on a busy summer weekend. The room?s windows open to let in fresh air!
No elevator to 2nd floor. We had sports gear we were carrying up and down the stairs multiple times. Breakfast was minimalist. Don?t expect eggs or sausages or even yogurt. We weren?t counting on having the breakfast, and you shouldn?t either.
We liked the price and how nice this hotel was for a Rodeway Inn.
The only thing we didn?t like was that the doors coming into the hotel were always unlocked so anyone could come in.
The location was perfect for us to use as a base for exploring the area.
I think a little more effort could go into maintenance / renewal of the common areas (e.g., corridor carpeting). I do understand the rates are reflective of it not being a newly renovated hotel. So take that with a large grain of salt.
Good price, located short drive to downtown, pool and hot tub. Listing should include that there is a mini-fridge and hairdryer in the room, as well as access to a microwave (I did not see this if it is there).
Breakfast average. Even for the price, would have appreciated a few more fruits, yogurt, muffins etc. It would be great to have access to recycling for paper and cans in each hallway.
Location to town and ski hill
Very dated carpets, furnishings, etc
Location
Mold in bathroom. Dirty towel.
