City Express by Marriott Charlotte South End

The morning breakfast included GLUTEN FREE MUFFINS. I am Celiac and finding this option was a bonus.

In a previous stay, I was on the end of the building toward the dumpster, and there was evidence of bugs (dead cockroaches) in the room. I did NOT find this to be true on this visit, and I did notice the 99% health inspection notice at checkin.

The staff was friendly and breakfast was pretty good.

No drawers for weeklong clothing storage. No towel rack for hand towel. More common in most hotels currently. The good features definitely outweigh the bad.

Night clerk was amazing made our check in flawless and welcoming. We had a issue that was bu far not the hotels fault and they switched our room with NO issue.

Entrance off road to hotel was a little difficult and hard to see.

The staff was occasionally at the front desk and did not answer the phone from guests. Finally, service to the room was poor or non-existent.

Spotless!! Staff was nice and ver accommodating . Parking was plentiful.

Absolutely NOTHING!!

My family and I did not stay! We felt unsafe from the time we drove into the parking lot. Also felt unsafe walking in to ask for a refund. They said they could not, we did not book direct from them. I would not recommend this service or hotel.

The hotel staff was rude from the start, acting annoyed when interrupted while folding towels. Later, I was asked to leave due to a complaint about noise, even though I was just on the phone and no details were provided about the noise.

The newly renovated rooms are beautiful

I had one late evening male employee tell me that I couldn?t check in at 5AM even with my reservation and that they do not take people that come in looking for rooms. He had an attitude every time I saw him, I don?t understand how someone could be so rude

Friendly staff. Hot breakfast.

Location didn't feel safe. An odd sign was posted that "This property no longer rents to locals". The stairwells were on the exterior and the first floor door was unlocked. None of the ice machines worked.

It was right off 77, so it was on our way to our destination.

We were forced to lat a deposit, even though that was posted nowhere and we were not informed of it before arriving. Second, there were bugs in the first room. Two dead ones and we were terrified they were bed bugs, but the live one few so fingers crossed

On the first floor and cleanliness.

The guest next door trying to open joining room door and talking loud, late night and morning.

Location

The elevator didn't work and the person that worked the front desk still decided to put us on the third floor. You can't access the hotel from both set of stairs on the outside. They claimed they had a look and they didn't. Some of the staff was rude.

Location was great!

The smell of the my room a little unpleasant, but it was nice and clean.

Convenient to I77 & airport as well as downtown. Staff was professional & helpful.

The people in the next room could be easily heard having a conversation. Walls must be thin in adjoining rooms?

FREE BREAKFAST BEGINS AT 5:30 A.M.! I was so impressed that Best Western is considerate of guest with early morning departure times,and offers breakfast so early. My room was,nice and accommodatiNg and I will definitely rebook this location again.

It was very clean and the rooms were nice. The location was amazing as it was near the lynx which was an awesome way to travel to downtown Charlotte.

Easy to find, right off I-77. Convenient location to ride the Lynx train downtown and back. Good breakfast.

A junkie was doing heroin on the front sidewalk when we arrived. There was a couple arguing loudly for over an hour in the adjoining room, staff unable to intervene in the situation - had to change rooms after midnight just to get some sleep.

Quick service.

The sheets had stains on them, the towels were dirty, the clock was 20 minutes off, the bed was just a spring mattress which was very uncomfortable and wasn't able to connect to the internet.
