    Pros +

    • Charming, grounds were beautiful. The bed was comfortable.
    • The mansion is more beautiful than I expected and the room was exquisite. The grounds are exemplary, the whole place is just gorgeous! The staff was wonderful and so friendly. I can't recommend Monmouth enough! I recommend taking the guided house tour.
    • The place is nice, staffs are professional. We had a great time there. Unfortunately, we didn't plan to stay longer. But, we will stay there longer next time. It was a hot day, but ice was waiting for us in our room which was nice. Room was very clea

    Cons -

    • It wasn't what I expected, I was disappointed...especially at the price point. Building we're a bit shabby and in need of some TLC.
    • The ice machine was so far away from room and/or add a fridge to the rooms.
    • Bed a little uncomfortable. Stairs a challenge to negotiate with luggage, but that’s the price of staying in a period inn I guess!

Breakfast was very good needs more options.

Restaurant wait staff should be more personal and knowledgeable about site.

There is nothing not to like. This is a beautiful home with beautiful grounds. Great location and great friendly staff.

The room was really nicely furnished and the grounds were beautiful. The staff was very nice and breakfast was excellent. We had a candlelight dinner in the main house and it was quite a treat. The house tour was very good.

The bed was a bit too firm for us, we're used to a memory foam mattress. There were a few things like rails being loose and bathroom vent and exhaust fan were really dirty. We also had no idea how to get the fireplace to turn on

    Great staff!

Grotty old rooms in the old carriage house badly need updating!

The restaurant and restaurant staff was amazing.

The waitress at breakfast was attentive but things took a very rude turn as we were walking out. As I walked out I grabbed a tea bag(the same ones that are offered for free in the check in area) and the waitress chastised my husband and I for passing the tip jar and taking a tea bag. We would have gladly left her a tip for our breakfast if we had cash. We were not anticipating having a waitress for breakfast and we have never seen tip jars at any bed and breakfast, so we did not have cash. My husband and I have enjoyed many bed and breakfasts and have never been so publicly insulted. Suddenly, it made every flaw in the entire property magnified. We left without our tour. We were disappointed that the button for the tub jets was ripped off and jet were unusable. One rotten apple can ruin the entire barrel.

It was a great place to stay in Natchez. Lots of privacy and it felt like home. The breakfast was exceptional! We also enjoyed the Restaurant 1818 onsite. The owner chatted with us one night- she is very friendly and interesting.

We had hoped to use the fireplace in the room but ours was out of order.

The porter, Hal was excellent to help us with our luggage & the front desk staff were very helpful. The accommodations were old school & vintage furniture, no modern amenities however. But beautiful place.

I was double charged for a room for two nights and so far, Booking.com and Monmouth hotel have not corrected the error.

Beautiful setting -wonderful staff. Good breakfast.

Such charm, beautiful grounds and amazing staff all very friendly. Rooms are definitely more like period decor and not the new updated style, which we loved. Good breakfast, fabulous dinner at the 1818 restaurant. Also there is quite the abundance of animals on the grounds which we loved:)

Nothing really. We didn’t have any kind of negative issues staying here

Setting was beautiful, as was the house and the food

Sofa bed squeaked every time I turned over.Breakfast staff asking for tips made us feel a bit uncomfortableNot enough lights

Gorgeous historic building with interesting history. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was yummy.

The grounds and gardens were not well kept. Much of the beds were overtaken by weeds and generally not well cared for. Also, a comfortable chair or sitting area in our room would have been nice. There was a bed, a desk and 3 small uncomfortable chairs. A chair for comfortable chair for reading would be an added bonus.
