Nothing was a nightmare
It was a low price for my family during this time. We lost our home to a fire a month ago and haven't had any luck getting another place so we've been living in hotel rooms ever since. With funds running low, this was our best option.

It is the best of the two hotel in the city
The location is in walking distance from convenient store and El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant. Also it's a short driving distance to Walmart and several other shopping stores. The hotel is also probably the cleanest hotel in the area.

Top Tips
- To avoid 25-40% rate hikes during the Greenwood Blues Festival in July, book your hotel 2-3 months in advance. Most properties fill quickly due to limited supply. Plan now to secure walkable accommodations near the festival venue and ensure better rates.
- Greenwood hotel stays add 12-15% in total taxes, combining Mississippi's 7-8% state tax and local surcharges. On a $100 per night room, expect an extra $15 in taxes. Factor this into your travel budget when comparing nightly rates.
- Downtown Greenwood hotels offer walkable access to the Cottonlandia Museum, Weaver Place, and restaurants within 0.5-1 mile, and are associated with lower crime rates for safer evening outings. Confirm your location to enjoy easier navigation and security.
- Ask about verified Wi-Fi speeds of 10-50 Mbps at your hotel, as rural areas may be slower or experience outages. Bring a mobile hotspot for continuity, especially if traveling for business or planning virtual meetings.
- Greenwood averages 5-10 annual power outages from storms, typically lasting 1-3 hours. When booking, confirm the property has generator backup to keep utilities and Wi-Fi running during severe weather.
- Hotels often reach 90% occupancy and rates climb 35-50% around the Delta Cotton Heritage Festival in October. Reserve your room 4-6 weeks ahead for the best availability and value.
- For more reliable 4G mobile coverage, stay within 1 mile of I-55. Networks drop to 40-60% eastward toward Sunflower County. Choose properties along this corridor for stronger voice and data service.
- Always request your hotel charge in USD instead of local currency to avoid 3-7% dynamic currency conversion fees at check-in. Verify the transaction amount before signing the receipt for greater transparency.
- For accessible stays at legacy motels, request a step-free room and confirm features such as ramp access or roll-in showers by phone. Note that around 40% of pre-1990s motels locally may not meet modern accessibility standards.
- If hotel Wi-Fi slows down in the evening (12-18 Mbps typical), try the Greenwood Public Library or downtown YMCA, both offering faster free Wi-Fi in the 45-60 Mbps range. These community amenities are within 2 miles of most hotels.
- Greenwood’s municipal tap water meets EPA health standards, though it can look discolored due to iron levels (0.42-0.58 mg/L). Bring or request a clear pitcher if color is a concern. Bottled water is not necessary for health reasons.
- Use a credit card when paying at independent motels to avoid being asked for a driver's license scan, a common ID collection practice for cash stays in the area.
- Chain hotels like Hampton Inn and Best Western in Greenwood offer ENERGY STAR or EPA GreenChill certification, reducing ozone impact by 60% over standard models. Select these for a more eco-friendly stay and look for certification logos at check-in.
- Bank ATMs near I-55 exits charge around $3.00 in transaction fees, compared to $4.50-$5.50 at motel lobbies. Withdraw cash before arrival or at bank-operated machines to minimize costs.
- Tip housekeeping $3-$5 per night in cash, placed discreetly in your room. This is the recognized standard in Greenwood and supports local service staff.
- Crime rates are 3.2 times higher east of Howard Street, especially after dark. Choose accommodations west of Howard Street for increased safety and easier access to police-patrolled downtown zones.
- Combine AAA/CAA with eligible corporate rates at chain hotels like Hampton Inn or Best Western for 18-22% in total discounts off standard nightly rates. Show both memberships at check-in for maximum savings.
