    Cons -

    • Two words: SCAM & DECEITFUL! This hotel is an absolute SCAM tagging their location. The location they have listed is in downtown Bar Harbor. That is the location of their OFFICES... NOT the hotel! SCAM! Hotel is located 10 minutes outside of town!!!
    • Cottage poorly maintained- smelled from mildew
    • Grounds need work but it looks like they are working on it and it will be even better

    Property placement

Inside property road poorNo lights in periphery of property No one responsible at night..not safeFalse damage claims..wrong attitude Noisy floor and doors Spiders and bugs every where Inspite of 10 to 10:30 checkout late fees demanded

    10HaleyPosted on: 1-19-2026

Kind staff, very clean, stocked with essentials, ample parking, plenty of mirrors and outlets so easy to get a group of gals ready for a wedding

The pullout couch was extremely uncomfortable- you REALLY should get a better one.

location to acadia and bar harbor

hard to find entrance to complex at night

Most uncomfortable bed ever!!!You...misleading about pool and hot tub...your price was way higher than it would have been if I booked directly with Hinckleys...won't book with you again!

Location was good. Staff were helpful.

Cottage was smaller than expected. Not much private space. Pool was not open.

Beautiful view. Secluded. Close to downtown but also away from the business.

The water pressure is terrible. We have to turn on the shower and sink faucet for at least 20 mina before having warm water.

    9Abby-LeighPosted on: 10-13-2025

It felt private but we were 7 mins to town!

In cabin 11, we quickly would run out of hot water. We figured out showers by day 2.

The bed was absolutely terrible. It was noisy and the wooden slats were bowed, which made the mattress also bow toward the center. We both woke up with stiff backs. Both nights were terrible nights sleep. Also there was never-ending road noise that said the unit itself cottage 11 was actually quite nice And had a lot of renovations done it was very cozy. I would strongly suggest you replace the bed or perhaps spend the night in it yourself.

The location is minutes away from the national park, and it was nice having a kitchen.

The "cottage" is essentially a motel. The "cottage" was not as advertised. Its title included "with deck" and the description included a deck and patio. The cottage had neither unless you're including the landing in front of the door and a picnic table next to your parking space. I brought this to Hinckley's attention, but unfortunately they said that they don't control what Booking puts in their description. They only remedy offered was to relocate to the connected cottage that had a deck, but no kitchen. Booking customer service is extremely difficult to get into contact with. I asked for a partial refund and heard nothing back. The location is very close to the road so there's a lot of noise from cars. Housekeeping is only available upon request. I think light housekeeping, such as fresh towels and trash being emptied, should be automatic every other day especially since you're paying a cleaning fee. Am I supposed to use the same washcloth for 5 days? Overall, I would suggest looking at other options.

Location to ocean and hiking trails

Old cool home but hard to get suitcases upstairs with the narrow halls.

Shaded cabins located directly on the Island Explorer bus line with easy access to Hulls Cove and Bar Harbor. ANP is minutes away.

Some cabins share walls with other units, and it isn't 100% clear which ones in the booking.

We loved the privacy and spaciousness of the cabin we were in. The modern TV/streaming services set up waa great too. This was a quiet, lovely and comfortable place! My son liked it more than staying at a regular hotel. It was super close to Acadia NP!

We noticed a lot of updating was ongoing so this will probably be fixed soon too, but the door lock didn't feel very safe, as it was a very old-fashioned thing. One of the windows didn't have a lock but when I asked about it they sent someone rigbt away to put one on. There were not enough hooks to hang towels or clothes in the bathroom.

    9JuliePosted on: 8-23-2025

We loved the cabin. Very clean and not far from Acadia park.

We thought the pool would be finished to use but it wasn’t ready yet.

    6StevePosted on: 8-22-2025

Location good. Mostly what we needed it to be. An inexpensive place near Acadia.

It included a toaster (surprisingly) that was unusable unfortunately due to a cord that was too short to reach any outlet.

    8SandraPosted on: 8-19-2025

The location was close by for Acadia national Park in Bar Harbor Center

The pool wasn’t working. It would’ve given us something more to do than sit around. They did give us an alternative down the street for the pool.

The location is the only attraction to the "resort." The staff was nice but that did not outweigh the terrible facilities.

We were assigned cabin 8 which should frankly be designated "off limits." The pictures on booking and the website don't match AT ALL what we experienced. 1. The air conditioning was an outdated, old, 2. Musty spelling. 3. peeling lead paint in the bathroom from the 1940s. Environmental hazard. Anyone know that? 4. pillows old. 5. Kitchen cabinets from 1940s. Really? most likely lead paint. 6. Road was a disaster inside of resort. Really? 7. Old paint on porch screen door. 1970s or 1940s? This was a place I would tell everyone to stay away from. Booking ought to be ashamed of themselves for accepting this resort. I am avoiding booking.com from now on. That was one of the worst experiences I've had. Totally embarrassing you rent out that cabin.
