Hampton Inn Carbondale

Comfortable bed, quiet room, reasonably good breakfast.

Lousy coffee, paint or solvent odor and construction dirt related to renovations which were in progress.

Breakfast was cold Saturday morning- oatmeal was very cold. Coffee was hot

They returned my money when I accidentally booked wrong date, and the breakfast was pretty good. Chicken sausage was actually fire who wudda thunk it

Hotel employee from the hospitality staff was absolutely amazing

First room smelled of raw sewage. I informed the front desk. Apparently it was already a known problem. I was moved to a different room. Was told it would be a few minutes. Ended up waiting 2 hours. Only to get a room with ants crawling all over.

Clean, comfortable, and reasonably good breakfast.

Would have enjoyed a morning newspaper.

Very run-down room - horribly stained desk chair & bathtub, outdated carpet, etc

The breakfast was decent

The hotel definitely had a run-down feeling to it. When we arrived, the 2 guests in front of us were dealing with changing rooms because the rooms they were given had not been cleaned and prepared. The desk clerk seemed to be the only staff there.

Rooms were overbooked, staff very rude, received a downgraded room for the same price, room initially given was not cleaned, had to go back and get a separate room, hotel unable to make keys so the staff had to let us in the room

The outdated furnishings, unclean room, tv that did not work, smell in the room that was related to excessive moisture in the hotel, mildew on the walls, had to be relocated to three rooms before the smell was manageable.

Got there at 3:00. They said room wasn?t ready. 10 people in the lobby waiting to get their room. Breakfast had no eggs. Biscuits and gravy and waffle.

AC doesn't work well. Curtains do not close all the way. Parking lot light right outside our window.

Bugs in fridge. Damaged cabinet fridge was in looked like water damage.

Decent, comfortable hotel.

The breakfast was horrible. It was what I would expect from a much lower level hotel. Nothing but processed and sugary options. Nothing cooked. No eggs at all. No hot oatmeal. No waffles. I've stayed her before and it was a bit better then.

Charges $20 for extras Only takes card been 2 days since checkout still not credited back ( my bank takes 3 days ) Really pisses me off

Shower head did not adjust properly Room door was so hard to open had to put a shoulder into it to push

The staff was great! Rooms were. Clean and breakfast 5 star.

The location was perfect for being near Southern Illinois University. The breakfast staff was hard working and friendly.

The hotel is worn and in need of cleaning. The lobby area was not inviting as the floors were littered as well as the coffee station. The room's carpeting was dirty. Also, the rooms need more outlets or charging stations.

I liked the size of the room the best.

They may want to think about upgrading the tub. The tub had stains where water has sat.

Pool and hot tub were wonderful. Breakfast really good. Carla at front desk was so helpful. Have stayed in other hotels in Carbondale but this is the best and reasonable.

Located in Prime location. Break fast is available. Indoor swimming pool

Margaret makes great cheesy eggs, with love, for breakfast. She greeted us with a friendly smile and perky personality. A great way to start your morning. Thank you.
