Pros +
- Location
- Excellent location and public facilities (lobby, hospitality suite)
- The property is located close to the beach, and was a short walk to many restaurants and shops. The 24-hour front desk made it easy to ask any questions. The bathroom area is quite soundproof.
Cons -
- Could be cleaner
- The room was not in acceptable condition. Nor did it match booking.com photos. The ceiling was flaking, the rug was horribly stained across the entire area not covered by furniture. Furniture was broken and sitting in corner (table missing 1/2 wheels propped by phone books). The light blocking drape lining has deteriorated and is cracked. The kitchenette was not outfitted completely - no glassware. 3 coffee cups. But worse, there was no coffee service. Not even a welcome starter set. This unit would not rent well if photos matched unit. The WiFi and cable tv did not work until the morning of the 4th day of stay.
- The room itself is quite dated. The air conditioning unit is in the corner of the living room and doesn’t quite circulate the air in the unit. Unfortunately, there were renovations happening during our week there so we had no use of the balcony at all since they were renovating the outside walls. The parking available at the property is tough to navigate and there are signs posted threatening to tow your car if you don’t park it well between the lines.

Not thing
Room was not cleaned for usCarpet was disgustingly dirty with spots all over Caution tape on our balcony Very uncomfortable staying here
There was no breakfast. The staff was friendly . They had good washing machines and dryers.
The shower in our room did not work and the drain plug wouldn't stop leaking so all the bath water was gone before you could have a bath more than two minutes.
Location was okay, many stores around and the beach is close.
The air conditioning smelled very bad, so it was unusable. There was no soap, no shampoo. Despite the kitchenette being equipped with pans, there is no burner, so cooking is impossible. Very-very loud in the room from the street. There was a pigeon living on the balcony 24/7. The rug is stained and sticky. Everything feels super old and smells bad.
I would advise against staying here. This is not the unit that was booked, the owner was really rude. We endedUp cancelling and getting a refund: this is not part of the hotel and very much false advertising.
The room was reasonably clean upon arrival. The host arranged an early check in at no additional charge and the reception people were quick to get us our access cards. Being on the 12th floor meant we didn't get too much street noise. Easy walking distance to the International Market and beach, with a bus stop right outside the entrance. It was lovely to sit on the lanai and watch the sun set every night - even had a small ocean view from there. The roof top pool and spa was really nice - we used them every day. A really nice spot on the roof for sunset pics. The beds were comfy and there was loads of towels to get us through our stay
The decor was dated, but that is no concern for us. The pictures online were pretty correct but the seating was not what we expected. There was no couch or comfy chair to sit on so we ended up sitting on our bed mostly. The table and chairs weren't ideal as the table was very wobbly, and the chairs were tall like bar stools so my legs just hung off then as I couldn't touch the bottom rung or floor.
Location is good but that’s it!!!
Let's start by clarifying that this is not the Pacific Monarch Hotel!!! From the site it is not clear that it is a private apartment inside the Pacific Monarch and this means no hotel service: no towel change, no sheet change, no cleaning of any kind.We found sheets already stained upon our arrival, in the bathroom products used by previous guests, rough cleaning of the apartment and two indecent dirty and dusty shag carpets in the living room. When we contacted Pacific Monarch they explained us that they could not do anything since it was a private apartment. When we contacted the owner, or whoever manages the apartment for him, since he never signed the emails with his real name, we pointed out all the shortcomings and we received really rude answers. I think they really need to learn what Costumer Service means!!!It’s unprofessional answer “keep in mind you got what you paid.. “ and “why did you book with us? Probably because the VERY low, great price..” The only reason I book with them was by mistake because the site does not make it clear at all. So if you are looking at the Pacific Monarch Hotel don’t fall for this trap. With a 10 nights stay and after a holiday spent exchanging emails, only three days before the end they offered us a refund for the missing nights, after we had already taken care of cleaning the apartment and washing the sheets and towels ourselves.I will just add that the Pacific Monarch is currently undergoing renovations so there are workers on the front from 8am to 6pm and a new building is being built across the street. This means having to keep the curtains drawn all day for privacy and construction noise all day. This is not specified anywhere and you find out when you arrive as well as the cost for parking which is $35 a day if you have a car.
Loved the location, rooftop pool and spa.
Beds and furniture. No couch to sit. Shaky table.
I love the location, it is just a 5 minute walk from the beach and completely surrounded by shops and restaurants. Our room had a city view with a balcony that could completely open up with room length sliding doors and it was awesome to sleep with the balcony open. would stay here again 100%
i wish the bathroom door locked lol, its a sliding door that doesnt lock.
Location and price were good. Close to beach and had great views from pool. Relatively cheap parking. Had all the amenities we expected for the price we paid.
Bath tap needs to be replaced. Very hard to operate. Need a few more lights and maybe a small dining table.
The location is good! But that's about it.
Where do I start? How about the fact that this room isn't actually a part of the Pacific Monarch. Yes, you are staying in the Monarch, but this room is owned privately and separated from the hotel. No where on the listing does it state that! That means you get no fresh towels, no turn down service, and no help from the actual hotel staff. On top of that, the room was dirty. Garbage didn't get emptied, fan blades covered in dust, ceiling fan didn't work, floor fan was falling apart, some small stains on the bedding, towels had stains, curtains falling apart, and the tub didn't drain properly. When I finally got a hold of someone (since no contact links for booking.com work) and said I wanted a refund because of all the issues. I was told I would only get a refund for the days I still had left. Which to me was unacceptable and wouldn't work. When I confronted Sam (the listing company guy) about the booking.com listing being deceiving, I was told, " this is what you get in Waikiki when you are trying to save money and get something cheaper." "What were you expecting for half the price of the hotel?" "60% of the rooms in Honolulu are this way..." Needless to say, I was pissed. But since it took so long for me to get a hold of someone (started trying the night before), I was basically forced to stay there. I had a full day planned and would not be able to find a new room and move our stuff. On top of all that, they don't tell you on the listing page, that parking in the hotel garage is $35 A DAY so that was an extra $105 for us on top of the room. Also, I looked up the hotel and their rates. It wasn't double the cost, and you got rooms that were way nicer. So, if you are looking at the Pacific Monarch book through their site. Don't fall for this trap on here. I wish I had taken more pictures of all the issues.
The pool, spa, views, convenient location.
We were given a 'privately owned room'. It had inferior curtains that didn't keep out the light. It didn't include room service. Furniture was inferior quality. Next time, we will book directly with the hotel.
The hotel is fantastic, however the room was a private rental and required updating, cleaner room, better bed and linen. There were no products or tea/coffee making supplies. We enjoyed the pool, spa and sauna.
Amazing location and extremely friendly staff
How expensive the parking was
The proximity to the beach and shops.Great pool and BBQ area. An excellent hospitality room. Good to have a kitchenette
No information in the room as to what facilities was available.. Did not know that our room was a privately owned one until checkin. As such when we had a question about tV was told to contact owner. Did not know owner as booked with booking .com..
Liked the location and pool area
A couple of the desk staff were not very friendly. Also had some issues with the shower in our room, the fan and bedside light not working. As this room was privately owned, the hotel was unable to assist us. There were also no brochures about tours and activities that you'd see in most hotels.
It was very clean and quiet staff were super nice the location it’s in is perfect
Perfect location, everything was within walking distance
Parking was abit pricy for each day
