- The illegals they're exploiting are really awful attitude-wise, were problem-causers, and seemed to be looking to steal. Not the international volunteers, the illegals.

Location
Dirty floors, Staff hostile to many guests, night man mocked guests refusing to answer questions, many guests drunk making very loud talking after 11pm, after midnight and after 1 am.. Manager Ashley was rude with guests who complianed.
The location is great, very close to the beach. The staff were friendly and welcoming. At first, I was assigned a room (a 6-bed female dorm with a kitchen) where the bed frame of the top bunk was broken. It felt unsafe and there was a risk of getting injured while climbing down. I asked the staff to change my room, and they immediately helped me and moved me to another one. I really appreciated how quickly they resolved the issue.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a major issue. The floor in the room was very dirty and sticky, it literally felt like your feet were sticking to it. The bathroom was covered in hair and stains. The towel provided had red and yellow stains on it, even though it was supposed to be white. The kitchen sink was not working in either of the rooms I stayed in.If you are assigned a top bunk (as I was), it is quite difficult to climb up and down. Also, whenever the person on the lower bunk moves, the entire bed shakes, which easily wakes you up.It was also quite noisy at night, and quiet hours were not really respected (although that may have been due to the particular roommates I had). Another important detail is that there are no curtains around the beds, so there is no privacy at all. If someone turns on the light, you will definitely wake up. Adding simple bed curtains would make a big difference.
The social aspect and how it’s so close to the beach and you can check out beach chairs etc for free
The beds are not so solid
The pancakes are awesome. The activities are fun and the updated rooms are wonderful
There are two people working there who are very rude A shorter young guy and an Asian girl
- Every day activities to join in the evening. - group chat- free street parking around - if you like city’s perfect located- free pancakes and coffee/tee sometimes hot chocolate in the morning -comfortable beds
- not very clean ( bathroom in the room)- the kitchen does not even have cups? Not really optimal for cooking meals
The hostel is very close to the beach, it’s a three minute walk. I felt safe, which is the most important thing for me. I stayed in female only room, and although the furniture was older, it was comfortable.
The bunk beds don't have curtains, which is not ideal. They don't offer free tours as most of the hostels do, but it might be different here
Its in a great spot downtown waikiki. Walking distance to a lot of convenient spots.
The room was good, but i didnt fully understand the semi private space until I saw it. Perhaps a clearer explanation or pictures. But it was good and I dont have any complaints.
the location and delivery of towels
The girl who was making the pancakes wasn't very friendly, the service at the restaurant wasn't good either; they left me waiting for my dinner without warning, and the room cleaning was excellent only one day out of seven, and it was done by a girl with glasses and curly hair—thank you, she!
good breakfast and perfect location! nice staff
found cockroach in the room. and cannot get extra towels
The property is a good stay for hostels. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, they have AC, staff is really friendly, there are daily activities every evening, breakfast pancakes are big plus, all in all a pleasant stay.
It's not that of a big deal, but I'm gonna mention it for general knowledge. My room actually was a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment converted in a hostel room, which meant that there were two beds in the the bedroom, and another two beds in the kitchen. I slept in the kitchen and sometimes the other people used the kitchen to cook, thus the whole place smelled like food.
Rocky is the best!! The staff and location were great!
The rickety top bunk and not being able to charge my phone next to me while in bed.
The staff and the location. Rocky is awesome!!
Not being able to leave a backpack over night when I had a split stay.
I met a lot of cool people !
More than one of my roommates were kind of sleezy/ creepy calling me beautiful and sitting on my bed etc. I should have picked a female dorm
for 3 nights I was able to stay right next to waikiki beach for about 80 dollars which is an insanely good deal. The people here are incredibly nice, the staff are easy going and the atmosphere is great if you go down to the lounge. The rooms itself arent the greatest however I think the cost alone makes up for it.
Only nitpick was the fact that the rooms were a tad bit uncomfortable because of the heat. I picked a bed in the back room with no AC so that may be the reason however once you get used to it it should be fine.
The view from my room was incredible.
I didn’t like the transgender that was always there and said she/he had been there for 5 years. It was unfriendly and gave off hard core bum vibes.
nice location, cool activities (movie night etc), staff was grrat, yummy pancakes in the morning
bed could have been more comfy
