Hoosville Hostel

With air conditioner on, we couldn?t hear the music/party going on at night.

Mouse poop on windowsill. Ran out of toilet paper in one of the bathrooms.

The yard is pleasant

The mold all over the shower. The Amonia smell throughout the building. One of the 2 rooms I was in smelled like mold.

The Place was very clean & comfortable! The staff was very friendly and helpful, definitely a very inviting atmosphere from the staff and other guests!

Everything was great! I¿d definitely recommend this place to anyone!

The staff and the Adventurous and eccentric out back area with the natural spring water pool with a waterfall. From the owner  to the front man ....excellent customer service and personalities. The hostel has an indoor camping vibe.

Not really anything I would say I didn¿t like. Lived up to its reputation as a family friendly and cozy yet eccentric hostel/hotel.

Staff was excellent and location. AC worked well.

Room had large fan that did not work. I reported it to the manager , but it was not fixed while there for 2 extra days. The ceiling had plaster splitting that should have been repaired prior to renting room.

Never been to a hostel before this. Was unusual setting but unique and offered amenities that normal hotels don¿t.

No lounge, exterior completely under construction, poor Wi-Fi, and establishment in poor condition.

I'm trying to think about an upside, but honestly nothing come to mind after staying for 3 days there. Probably the price, because the other options in that area are more expensive.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but I booked this hostel based on reviews and after staying there I'm still not sure why their score was high, so I want to maybe help other guests with their decision. We knew the hostel was very simple by their pictures, but there's more to that. We stayed in private room with shared bathroom. When we got there, we felt some perfume and I thought it was clean, but in fact there was hair everywhere. It was very hard to sleep because the mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable, on top of the noise outside. We didn't have courage to use the wardrobe because there was a terrible smell. The bathroom had nothing but toilet paper, and even that was lacking in the third day, as they were not replacing the used toilet papers and that's it. The staff wasn't rude but nothing special either. When we were checking out, two employees were having a fierce fight and we had to wait their fight to finish to be able to return our key card. We wouldn't stay there again and that's for sure. Less important but also worth mentioning: everything seems very old and the impression is that no investment at all is made in their hostel to keep things more or less pleasant, but that could be fine if the place was at least truly clean, instead of just spraying perfume to feel clean when the dirt is actually visible everywhere. I wish success to their business, but I hope they'll improve.

The amenities were greatly misrepresented. The front desk clerk looked and acted like he was a relapsed meth addict, with his volatile mood swings and foul, abusive language. The whole experience was like paying to visit a homeless shelter.

It would have been better without the thugs that took over the music room. They didn't want nobody else but their friends in there I didn't tell the owner I just left.

Generally at hostel, you provide your food.They've been tweaking & making upgrades to an original old lime,stone & shell mix & structure. Haven’t seen up stairs, but downstairs is keeping its vibe but in a better way.

Improving old historical buildings ( registered or not), take time, a good engineer & lots of money

Coolest hostel in the US. I really enjoyed the tree nets to relax and read a book.The hostel is old but very clean.There's also a nice taproom with craft beers and food trucks nearby.
