The manager, was very pleasant when we checked in. She gave us a room with a balcony so it would be quiet and we could watch the sun set. She gave us some local eatery options plus a map to get around Shelter Cove.

No. We plan to go back there.

View, view view. Great spot overlooking the ocean, rocks & sea birds. The nearby Black Sand Beach (walk as far as you want) makes you feel like you're the only ones on the planet. Not much else to do here. . . except relax on the Lost Coast, of course.

The room was non smoking and did not smell of smoke but the staff seems to be mostly smokers so you smell it outside our front door and around the parking area. It didn't ruin our stay but they could fix this. They could also reduce the laundry scents.

    The view and the location

I didn’t like hearing a toilet above us flush when we were in bed from the people above us. Also the decor was outdated.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The view was amazing! We loved that it was dog friendly. Staff was so welcoming.

The people at the desk, including the manager, Simy, were all very nice and helpful.

    Beautiful coast

Disgusting carpet in rooms. Poorly kept property. Clearly dogs had chewed on furniture. Prices were insane for the value. At best a $50 room, if that.

No hot waterview was disappointingthe room was disappointing for the price paidchain link fence was our view of the ocean

The views and the little eatery with friendly staff.

The long drive in, outdated room with stains on the carpet. It would also be nice to have a screen to keep the slider doors open.

Beautiful view and large room. There was a place to eat on the property. We enjoyed a yummy pizza. Also a nice coffee shop that had a good selection of fresh backed goods.

    8eygreggPosted on: 9-25-2025

Location and staff are absolutely amazing, the pizza place and the breakfast place are good and very convenient, and of course the views and nature, it was great seeing deers walking nearby, very cool place to do events like weddings

Will be great to update the rooms a bit, and taking into consideration the humid nature consider using different sealers to avoid things rusting

    10LauraPosted on: 9-2-2025

The staff were helpful, and kind. The view was spectacular, food and everything we needed was right there.

We had never been to Shelter Cove and didn’t know what to expect. The view from the inn is exceptional! Our stay was very quiet and the inn didn’t seem full. The bistro in the building was excellent. We had coffee, pastries, and lunch there.

Our room was very worn. The carpet was frayed and stained but the rest of the room was clean. It was comfortable but could definitely stand to be refurbished. We never did see the Innkeeper. We checked in late and received a note asking us to check in at the office but we never found anyone there. We would have liked coffee for our second morning there. There was no shower gel in the container in our shower.

    4PaulPosted on: 8-10-2025

The view - but it was blocked by fences. The in room coffee was good.

There were spider webs all over the wooden benches. There were no screens in the doors or windows, so no ocean breeze. OMG the drive out there!

Amazing views, friendly staff, hot tub, walkable to the beach

Perhaps would have liked to have a fan in the room. It got a little hot and stuffy at times

Amazing view. Clean rooms friendly staff. Nice coffee shop on the property.

The ocean view was beautiful and tub with jets was amazing and the sauna was a plus after a stressful week of work.

The room was a bit outdated. And the carpet should be removed especially because the tub is in the room.
