    Pros +

    • Staggeringly comfortable, luxuriously appointed room! Very comfortable bed and super-modern bathroom. Enjoyable patio. Also, the room service was stellar. I liked the mixed drinks they had in the minibar. Very nice!
    • The grounds, the bikes that you were able to "rent" the bar/restaurant on site was very convenient, the self parking was a little stressful but we found parking right in front of our hotel the last day.
    • The spa and hot tub

    Cons -

    • Not a thing! They were under renovation, so there was no pool; but we look forward to returning when renovation is done.
    • Front desk man asked if we'd ever stayed before, we hadn't. His reply "Oh yes, well since we've been offering discounts we've been getting a lot of "new" guests..." They offered housekeeping via txt, we accepted, then they didn't show up. Upstairs noisy.
    • Room was old looking, and bed was not comfortable at all. Noisy ( room in front of the road). And you can hear people from the others rooms.Restaurant staff was rude and quality of the food very poor. Old fashioned hotel who needs renovation. Overpriced

The service and the place is very cozy and comfortable. It’s very clean.

food was good, liked pool, relaxing atmosphere, would have liked bar open later to hang with family and friends who traveled for wedding

on check in lady who checked us in, at front desk with an horrible condescending attitude, everyone else great, room wasn’t ready because stained carpet but did get cleaned just damp for awhile, perhaps no carpet in room would make easier to clean up, dirty sheet when pulled back covers at night an maid who came to change actually asked if we wanted only that top sheet changed ,unbelievable.

Location to town is awesome Pool is beautiful Bed and pillows super comfortable

The grab and go coffee had huge line with no food left at 10am.Free coffee and a water station in lobby would be nice for the piece of the hotelsThe man (?dan) at check in was wonderful. On check out there was a huge line and untrained staff to assist with questions. We stayed in 67. The small mirror was falling off wall. The shampoo bottle on wall was empty thru the stay. The floor of shower was extremely slippery. The studio design means you have to have all the blinds closed all the time or one sees you coming out of shower and getting dressed and even sleeping. Would love a design you can still have blinds opens during one’s stay. The animal throw rug was curling up and was a tripping hazard.

Beds were not the most comfortable

Loved our Garden Shower Room! Everything on the property and in the rooms was super well maintained and just had a really high quality feel. We had brunch at Layla and loved it, too.

Hotel decor is amazing and so clean and tidy! Rooms are absolutely beautiful! Attention to detail is unreal! We had a room with an outdoor shower and bath…they were just gorgeous! Food was amazing and so well presented! Staff go out of their way to deliver the best service! Would def recommend a stay at this high end hotel which is only a 5 minute stroll to Sonoma square!

Nothing…everything was fantastic during our stay!

The grounds, the beautiful cottages, the pool, the sitting areas, the staff, the bartender, absolutely everything

    7DmitriPosted on: 7-28-2024

    Fancy clean room.

This is a noisy place. Poor sound insulation combined with people walking/talking until late at night. They rent out their space for weddings, that is a loud affair.

    7CynthiaPosted on: 7-23-2024

It was very centrally located, walking distance to town square.

EV charging -I called ahead of time and inquired on EV charging which I was told they had. However come to find out the staff did not mention they are only suitable for Telsa. Telsa is not the only EV in the market and not being able to charge at hotel was an inconvenience.

MacArthur Place has so many amenities, and it is professionally run. The property never feels crowded although it is a popular destination. It has enough space to allow guests to relax, reflect and enjoy Sonoma and the surrounding area. Our stay at MacArthur Place was one of the most enjoyable ones we have experienced in some time. We will return very soon.

We enjoyed every moment of our visit and wish we could have stayed longer.

We loved how friendly this place is without compromising on the luxury. The decor and design of the hotel is beautiful and attention to details really made the stay comfortable and indulgent without feeling pretentious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating - professional and kind. Couldn't rate this hotel more highly for a break in the wine region.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the grounds are beautifully maintained. We really enjoyed using the electric bikes each morning. I appreciated that the valet charged my car each night as well.

The only downside was our dinner at Lark. Our meal was disappointing.

    9suzannaPosted on: 6-17-2024

The amenities were excellent and the service was unbeatable! We mainly dealt with the evening valet, Larry, who was absolutely amazing!!! Even late at night he made sure we were well taken care of.

This is not a strong thing most people can control especially with a room that has garden access but there were a few bugs found in the bed. Mostly small ants and small spiders.

    10SavannahPosted on: 5-13-2024

MacArthur place was a beautiful, relaxing and a perfect stay for us during our wedding week! The staff were accommodating, nice and friendly. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. We stayed in the magnolia cottage with the outdoor shower which was so lovely! The white rose bushes outside our porch were gorgeous. The food at Layla was also delicious. The service was great. The overall amenities were amazing, we loved the spa and had the best couples massage there. Couldn’t recommend more.
