    Pros +

    • Great location with easy parking in a friendly neighborhood. Its a single family home with a great setup. Nice friendly travelers and staff.
    • Close to downtown, good make your own pancake breakfast. Free parking on street. Shared room, but OK for the price.
    • One of the most well-run, well-kept hostels I've stayed at. Very friendly, helpful and accommodative staff. I usually skip hostel breakfasts, but the sourdough pancakes here were too good to pass up. Only 1 block away from the train station

    Cons -

    • My room faced the street and there was a bit of traffic early morning that woke me up. Bed was a bit smelly and under sheets were stained, had not been cleaned fully after previous guest. They could use a second waffle maker. Breakfast is limited.
    • Bunk beds were OK for a night (perhaps 2). Since I only really needed a bed for the night, it was acceptable.
    • Everything except the location. Maybe it's me but I didn't know that the bathrooms would be shared. The room was very small and super hot. Also, it was very noisy outside the room the first night, people were talking and laughing until about 1 am.

The only good thing about this place was the location (being close to downtown SLO).

Everything except the location. Maybe it's me but I didn't know that the bathrooms would be shared. The room was very small and super hot. Also, it was very noisy outside the room the first night, people were talking and laughing until about 1 am.

It was very close to downtown. Therefore local sites and restaurants were accessible by walking.
