    Pros +

    • It was totally our speed and completely beautiful. So perfectly lush and mid-century, and a total peaceful vibe. Also, the room was so clean and welcoming, plus the shower had great water pressure.
    • Great location and very peaceful. the Manager was very helpful but no staff on site, just a phone number.
    • The early check in was nice, staff was friendly, clean room and property, nice vibe overall, great location.

    Cons -

    • Not a thing.
    • Dated, needs money spending on it to modernise. Pricey for what it is. Under new management so should improve.
    • The hot tub was under construction and not available.

Desert Hills is an excellent place we loved it so much it was so relaxing and the grounds are beautiful and would totally recommend it to anyone it's not too far of a walk to the Main Ave and it feels like you're a world away. Relaxation loved it so much great service everything excellent

There was nothing to not like

Room 15 was fantastic! Stylish and comfortable. Exactly what I was hoping for with my first trip to Palm Springs! Loved the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood. Quiet, but walkable to restaurants.

The entrance gate was hard to find because the GPS sent us to the wrong side.

    10CraigPosted on: 12-20-2025

Vintage kitchenette room 13 was great! Easy walk to town.

Desert Hills is perfectly located. Once we arrived, we parked our car and did not use it until we checked out. All the fun is within walking distance. Desert Hills delivers the quintessential Palm Springs experience: a gorgeous pool for a dip and the peace and quiet necessary for catching up on a book. Plus the bluest sky, the mountain and palm trees galore to top it all off.

Maybe having the hot tub in working order would add to the experience; but honestly, it is not a deal breaker.

Nice retro feeling. Clean and spacious.

The height of the shower head. Good for max 5 feet tall people ……

    8JoelPosted on: 11-27-2025

Lovely the retro vibe, very pretty small property. Perfect location against the mountain.Self check in, instructions were fine but no staff on site.Loved the large suite, very comfy bed. Quiet & peaceful

Did not love - no outside lighting on property, pool not lit at night, hard to find way to exit. Cheap toiletries in bathroom. Very dated kitchen, peeling paint in bathroom. Brutal overhead kitchen light.

This place was so sweet. All the special details of mid-century modern style in this apartment, And all the great art and kitchen appliances were all in line with the mid-century motif. It's definitely more than just a hotel room, more like an apartment. Also, bed was huge and comfortable! And it's in such a beautiful location right at the foot of the desert hills. And the managers were very communicative and accommodating all throughout.

The hot tub outside was under construction but we were there during a time of year where we might not have used it but it would have been nice of the option.

    Quiet, peaceful, clean,nice people

    I liked everything

    9JillPosted on: 11-13-2025

Retro 1960s feel. Clean and quiet, and close walking distance to main Palm Canyon entertainment area.

Jacuzzi spa was not available for use. Looks like it is being renovated, though, so it should be in use at some point.

Great location. Nice ambience. Quiet. Very comfortable room and nice to have a full kitchen. The room was larger than most where I’ve stayed in Palm Springs. We spent a lot of our time sitting around the tables around the swimming pool. Well, we never saw the managers. They were very attentive by text.

Hot tub broken. There were a lot of returning guest, who said it had been broken for years.

This is one of the coolest and nicest places Ive stayed on earth. absolutely loved the decor, the vibe, the customer service was impeccable, everything was amazing. im just upset I could only stay 2 nights.

    nothing. absolutely nothing.

    10ShimkusPosted on: 10-2-2025

The property is a perfect Palm Springs getaway. It is clean all the guests were very friendly and helpful. It is a no staff hotel but the staff on the phone were very helpful, the pool was larger than Orbit In which I preferred. It was a little more open in the courtyard, which I also enjoyed and it was just as close to everything as we needed it to be to walk to our downtown dinners. I love the kitchen at the rooms were larger than many in Palm Springs, we will return again soon . We will be back.

there were no negatives for us at all… The parking was also easy to get codes were provided well before we got there. Everything was great.

    9BrigidPosted on: 9-21-2025

The location. Those mountains! Sooooooo quiet. All I heard was the pool filter. Beautiful grounds. Room was cozy. Loved the vibe.

Empty / abandoned jacuzzi was weird. Looked like it was cool back in the day.
