Banana Bungalow Hollywood Hotel & Hostel

I liked the free breakfast, the people I met, karaoke night, Hollywood sign tour, activities, ease of access.

Asked for passport to sign in. Even though I was travelling within the United States. Waved it and let me sign in.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! Atmosphere was very welcoming!

The street view is misleading. There is a lot of foot traffic/homeless but the hostel was very safe.

Interesting place. Social environment. Slightly different in a good way. Relatively clean.

The booking was unfair and deceptive. Price I booked was not what I paid. There were rules and policies not disclosed until after I booked. Expensive for what it is.

The staff and other guests are all so kind and fun!!! I wish I had been staying longer because they have so many fun activities put together for guests that I would have loved to take part in.

My room had a slight urine smell. Not sure where it was coming from but luckily I smelled my mattress and it didn¿t seem to be that.

Everything. The staff was perfect, parties are perfect, room size is perfect. Can’t complain. Even you get a free breakfast which is very nice and tasty! Thank you for the stay, i will definitely come back at this hostel! See you soon guys!

A little bit noisy sometimes, but hey - it’s America.

24 hour reception was great, staff super friendly, helpful and chatty. I only used the breakfast 1 out of 3 days as I needed to leave early. Breakfast was basic but ok for a small bite in the morning. Car parking was safe and easy to get in and out. I stayed in a single room with own bathroom and was only using the room to sleep as the rest of the day I was out.

Far end of LA

Parking was enclosed within the property. I felt safe leaving my car parked. I was also pleasantly surprised that they showed the UFC fights for free. That was an added bonus, as I thought I would have to find a local bar to watch.

The room was a little smaller than expected, but I was only there for the night, so it did the job.

Shion was the best receptionist I’ve seen ever, He was really helpful and sweet.And they have party every Thursday and Saturday I really liked it. Good hostel !!!

The karaoke, the staff, the place

It was perfect for what we needed. The kitchenette in our room was key and the simple breakfast was perfect to get us started with our day.

We wish there was a pool, but other than that, everything else was great.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was provided and included fruit, tea, toast, and yogurt, which was nice. There is a front yard where you can relax or spend time outside. Overall, it offers excellent value for money.

It gets cold at night. During my 10-night stay, I spent 3 nights in another area, and when I returned, my luggage had been moved off the bed I was using, and someone else was occupying it. The bed itself was a bit unstable. Also, one of my blankets was missing, and when I asked for a replacement, I was told there were no extra blankets available, so I had to sleep wearing thick clothes.

Location, location, location! 9 mins from Universal, walk to the walk of stars and other Hollywood sites. Super cute place with off street parking for a small fee. Kiki makes this place amazing he seems to do all the extra stuff, he serves breakfast with a friendly story and the BBQ and Karaoke. He makes the atmosphere more fun and speaks many languages.

Had to ask for towels and blankets. Paid $13 per day for a single private parking spot, 2 of the 4 days others had parked there, talked to the office staff and he was useless, he seemed like he didnt understand anything, no common sense, kinda felt like a comedy show and they just grabbed a random guy off the street to put in the office and said "sit here" with no other explanation (but all the other employees were friendly and helpful).

Really nice hostel with great staff and people. The dorms are as shown so no surprise and pretty comfortable.Easy and cheap parking option so really practical.Many activities and parties are organized so it’s really easy to meet people there.Overall an amazing value for money!
