    Pros +

    • I love the location and I loved that there was a pool on the rooftop.
    • All categories mentioned above. Roof garden/bar, downstairs restaurant outstanding, rooms comfy and well designed, staff unflinchingly courteous and pro-active in responsiveness.
    • The claw tub and gym

    Cons -

    • The mattress was so uncomfortable we stayed there for 3 days and knew that there was no refund. I asked if they had anything else that they can give us to make the bed more comfortable after a long day of walking around
    • Loft rooms near top floor are under the club/bar. Not great for working. Asked for trash to be taken out of the room, and the cleaning staff only took one visible bag of trash, but nothing from the actual trash bins under the wet bar and in the bathroom.
    • Items in the room were dusty and some trash found behind bathtub

The architecture. Great staff. Very friendly. Very helpful.

No coffee in the rooms. (Unless I missed it.) The gym was small. But always the case with hotel gyms.

pretty clean, room smelled a little like moth balls or something but overall it was clean, trendy, nice place to stay.

Location of hotel felt a little sketchy at night. Not a ton to do right around the hotel.

    nothing really

it was like a dingy nyc hotel with nyc prices but in LA

Very hip, and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Great people-watching.

Pool area is tiny with only 5 actual loungers. As a hotel guest, I would've liked the opportunity at some point during my stay to lie down and enjoy the sun rather than sit at a picnic table. Pool itself is also tiny, like an oversized hot tub.

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 3-29-2017

    great design, entertaining spaces

the shower did not drain well and water went out onto the whole bathroom floor

Ace gave me a great, unexpected experience. It kinda felt like I was at an AirBnb home with all of the amenities of a hotel (i.e. restaurant, room service, gym, bar and so forth) I recommend for a weekend stay.

Price was a little steep but reasonable.

I loved the theme of this hotel. It was very urban and modern, but also really classy. The hotel bar on the roof was amazing. I wish we had brought our swimsuits for the hot tub! The food in the restaurant downstairs was good as well.

I was told there would be a king bed in the room and it was only a queen. When I told the woman at the front desk she did nothing about it. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. Also the decor in this hotel is hideous.

    6StevePosted on: 8-8-2015

    Cleanliness and friendly staff

The decoration is Spartan and seems to have been furnished from a resale shop. Rough concrete floors and ceilings are not what I would expect from a $--- a night hotel. The hallways are dark. Perhaps I am too old to be impressed by "hip" decor.

    10ScottPosted on: 6-3-2015

Everyone we encountered at the Ace was friendly, courteous and helpful. Services; valet, room service, housekeeping, security, bellman and front desk were all on point. I'd read a couple of negative reviews, but experienced none of the issues mentioned.

Wished there was coffee available in my room, but the coffee from the café downstairs was outstanding,

Overall I liked the style of the rooms the best

The rooms were extremely small for the price

    Good location

I was returning to our room ~10 PM and found a staff member inside our bathroom to fix water complaint from the guest below. However, I did not receive any texts or calls to inform of this incident. Later on that same night, I voiced my concern to the staff about water piling outside the shower and was dismissed by the staff member with a few extra towel. Then due to that water, I ended up falling and injured myself. Communicated with the property and they finally changed my room around 1:30 AM. All this to say, I won’t be return to this facility.

    1ValeskaPosted on: 2-12-2026

    The lobby.

The room was unacceptable and we were disappointed with the presentation. We did NOT stay. The carpet was dirty and it smelled like they had sprayed or fumigated with a strong deodorizer (this affected my asthma). The carpet was a yellowish/green with stains and the sofa was old and stained. The ceiling was cemented concrete beams no ceiling; no air conditioning. The bed looked like a futon; no sheets or comforter available; the bathroom had no door. My husband went down to request another room which looked exactly the same. I was so upset I didn’t take pictures. Instead I was on the phone with Hilton trying to get another reservation at a proper hotel. The concerns were discussed with management. Since, we only walked into the room to be disappointed and didn’t not stay - we REQUESTED a refund. We had paid for early check in at 1pm. Management said she would attempt to get us a refund; it was early enough to make it available to another party. Reason for room decor was gothic The only reason we selected this hotel was because it was suggested close to the fashion district. The hotel was not worth the money we lost; because they did not give us a refund. The check in process was a stressful process. Having check in virtually was a hassle. I would not recommend this hotel. When you have gone top tier hotels 10 minutes away for less money as well.
