- It is in a neighborhood setting so you can walk in Westwood neighborhoods. You are away from the hustle and bustle of large hotels in the city.
- A lovely hotel. Really nice room and lots of perks including lots of coffee! Nice front desk staff . Very close and convenient to Westwood Village. Remarkably quiet too.
- The Hilgard House was an excellent place to stay in Westwood! Very close to many nice restaurants and shopping of all kinds. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a safe and pleasant place to stay.

- Unfortunately, the room was not very clean. The toilet was unflushed (!) and it appeared the floor had not been swept.
- Outdoor sprinklers flooded the patio outside of Room 110.
