    Pros +

    • Can't beat the location!
    • The free breakfast was surprisingly good. The receptionist was friendly and helpful.
    • Great location downtown near the arboretum. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast - eggs, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Room was comfortable and quiet.

    Cons -

    • My husband got bed bug bites. Three in a row on his arm in two different spots. After I sprayed the beds down with 91% alcohol. The room for the most part appeared clean. We just needed a place to crash for one night however it’s a a 2 star hotel
    • Parking spaces were super narrow. I came to the hotel a little late (10pm) and only found a spot under the entrance area and my car barely fit...and I was wedged so tightly I scraped my driver side door trying to get out. Wish the spots were a tad wider!
    • The room was smaller than anticipated and the toilet felt like it was made for a toddler. There was a live cockroach in our bathroom. At least one of the towels had a brown smudge on it and was not clean.

Clean, neat, attractive, good location, good breakfast.

    In-room safe did not work.

    4Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 10-8-2021

The room had not been cleaned so requested to switch rooms. The 2nd room had ants crawling in the tub. Did not feel comfortable staying there and will not stay again.

Location in downtown Davis, walking distance to restaurants and shops.

    Parking stalls are very tight

    Ground floor

The room had ants that got into the bed during the night and across the carpeted floor. I also did not like the maid taking food from the trash I threw away to keep. It was gross though I am sure it looked good to her.

Front desk reception, upon arrival, was excellent! She was professional, courteous, and very pleasant.

The A/C in the room had not been turned on, so the room was very hot upon arrival (100+ degree day). It took quite a while to cool it down.

The property is ideally located in Davis within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops.

It's a little dark and old looking, but otherwise well maintained and clean.

    Cleanliness and Location.

Room is small but fine for a short stay.

    9MarthaPosted on: 6-15-2016

Very helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable bed.

Location worked well for us; Black Bear Diner is right next door, too, which was convenient. The room had good lighting and comfortable furniture and a great mattress to sleep on! Hotel breakfast room was well stocked and maintained.

The bathroom was very small and has a pedestal sink and no counter space, which makes it more difficult to manage travel toiletries.

good location , walking accessebility to shops , restaurants , quiet , and very helpful front desk

Excellent place for the price. I've stayed in most of the other places available in Davis, this is one of the best for price, location and amenities.

    Rooms are small.

    Location to downtown was great!

The beds were very soft. The air conditioner was very loud..

    7Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 3-28-2015

Conveniently located near lots of restaurants, shops and galleries, and UC Davis.

    9Verified guestPosted on: 10-24-2025

Breakfast. For example, orange juice served was just water mixed with some artificial sweetener :-(

    Location.

Not really. For its price range, it was fine.
