    Pros +

    • Nice clean place, a few blocks from the beach.
    • Nice and clean will stay there again I like the old retro furniture and featherbed the grounds were really nice and different from most other places
    • Great location and clean room.

    Cons -

    • The bed was so high up I needed a step to get in and out of bed. It was upstairs and it would of been nice to have some sort of balcony to sit outside.
    • Kind of hard to find. In a neighborhood hardly any street lights.
    • Maybe coffee mugs instead of the styrofoam ones (less waste).

I absolutely loved my stay here - the room, the lobby, the staff and the location. I had a restful vacation and I miss it.

Maybe coffee mugs instead of the styrofoam ones (less waste).

The Place is charming ,has a nice terrace.

The Train coming by every Hour with it’s honking Signal, was enoying.

    9SeanPosted on: 2-10-2026

It was a cozy room, lived the fire place and the over layout.

Just a personal preference, but the bed was super soft and not supportive for sleeping.

Everything was perfect. The room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Great location & short walk into the main village area & beach. Nice terrace area at the top of the property, and quiet residential area (apart from ocean train honking its horn during the day, but I think that would be the case anywhere in the town!). The caretaker chap was very helpful when we arrived and continued to be throughout our stay.

Nothing really, apart from a hole in the window mesh that let in a wasp (which I proceeded to get stung by!)

    What breakfast?

Parking was very limited. I had to park in the handicapped as I came back at 2300 each night

We had a very nice room, spacious and cozy. Furnished with old style cabinets, couches and the bed was really comfy. Old but working laundry room and the coffe at the reception is available at all time. Big and spacious parking. Groceries and restaurants and beach in walking distance.

Alfredo is the best of hosts and an awesome help. Love the location! Lounging up top was the topping of an ideal way to relax while on quick mode

My friend did not know how to get the game on the tv.

This place was great for us, no staff, but I did talk with the keeper, he was nice, helpful, let me know my car light was left on, dignified and classy, so close to the beach.

Nothing was bad, maybe the neighbor adjacent to us had a foul mouth, I just turned up the tv volume. I did try to book a second night but the website said I couldn’t due to no connectivity, B.Shit .I just booked it anyways for a few dollars more. Booking.coms the problem, not the facility

Stayed two nights, then headed for San Diego , i should have just stayed in Carlsbad, and probably here but I thought we’d find something as nice, we didn’t

Place was great, dude that cleans the place was super nice and showed me where to find more blankets and such.

Great period house with plenty of rooms. Very short walk to a stunning beach. Perfect for families to enjoy a beach holiday.

Rooms can be a little noisy but it is an old house. Just bring friends and family with you so no problem

Loved the clean, vintage rooms. Bathroom is a good size. Free coffee in lobby which was delicious and free granola bars and chocolates. Great location for walking to the beach and downtown village. Highly recommend!

    8TomPosted on: 11-4-2025

Room was large and homey. Free parking. We had trouble with the ceiling fan and they kept at it and fixed the same day we reported. Good location to walk to downtown and restaurants and the beach. In a residential neighborhood and much quieter than the chain hotel locations.

No coffee in the room and the “lobby” didn’t open until 7:30 so early risers were out of luck. Packaged bars and cookies out for snack. No breakfast.
