Pros +
- Historic feeling and location.
- Hotel Congress has all the amenities you find in newer hotels but with historic value. Meals, entertainment and comfortable rooms with walking distance to many musical events.
- The classic, rustic nature of a hotel from the turn of the last century. Built in 1918, Hotel Congress in Tucson is a throwback to old-school dynamics, including leaving one's roomkey at the front desk, rotary phones and a cross-connected switchboard.
Cons -
- A/C didn't work upon arrival, no television, water pressure is awful. The front desk lady was unfriendly and dismissive. I was aware the hotel could be loud but we could literally feel the bass from the DJ below until 2am.
- Nothing. I'd stay there again without batting an eye.
- It was so loud and dirty, like living in a frat house. Would tell anyone not to ever go there.

Historical architecture Great location Excellent cafe in the hotel
This place was so loud and dirty. It should not be allowed to be a hotel. Tried leaving mid stay and they would not refund us. Everything about the experience was terrible.
It was so loud and dirty, like living in a frat house. Would tell anyone not to ever go there.
Everything about the hotel was amazing, the ambiance, the music, the food, their staff. We loved it.
We loved the history of the hotel! It was so amazing staying in something so historic.
It is loud, but we were advised of this many times. We still slept through the night and they do offer complimentary ear plugs.
The staff was helpful and carried my luggage up to my room
The hotel is not handicapped accessible. No elevators and I had to climb a flight of stairs with a bad knee
Great location and the employees were friendly & helpful.
Did see a roach walk under the bed and the hot water came & went in the shower.
It's got great character and a great location
The "cactus garden" is just a wall with a mural. Misleading name.
The location was the best part about this hotel.
It was 107 degrees in Tucson the day that we visited. Needless to say, it does not get very cool at night. This became a real problem around 1:30 in the morning when our AC died.
The staff was very attentive and professional. The breakfast and mimosas are delicious! Nice music on the patio in the evenings. The trolley runs in front of the hotel. You just have to walk one block to catch it.
They advertise as ¿pet friendly¿ and require a $50 pet fee + $125 damage deposit. Even though they say that the deposit is refundable, they will not return it to you, despite leaving no damage and no mess.
Location
Sveral bars (a +). @ 2am they kicked every out which is normal. we had some family waiting for cabs & they had to leave the building. Told them we were guest & asked to stay in the lobby with them they still kicked them out & told us we 2 go to our room.
The location to downtown.
I was put in room 221, which I'm guessing is the quietest room in the hotel, so for me the noise wasn't an issue. All was great!
Excellent location and secure underground parking. Beautiful historic hotel with modern amenities. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Comfortable, secure room with an atmosphere reflecting days of old. Loved it, thank you.
No, it was a fun experience staying in such a hotel in historic Tucson, Arizona. Hotel was built in 1919, my mother was born in Tucson in 1920. Very cool.
It was as advertised. Historic. Great downtown location. We could walk to convention center. Neat grocery store around the corner. The bars and restaurants were cool. The outdoor second floor patio was an unexpected treat.
Obviously the street noise was an issue and we expected that. It would also have been nice to have a king size bed option. The toilet was nearly unusable due to how close it was to the sink. My knees were under the sink!
Room is in a speaker. Whole building vibrates.
It's about the base. Boom boom boom. Stops a 2am
Historical vibe.
Hotel has identity crisis. It wants to be a hotel but it is a high tech music night club. If you are ok to go to sleep after 2 am each night, this place is for you. Because of the horrible noise/vibrations that rattle heating/AC you don't care about hot
great downtown location
hard to believe they call this a hotel.. impossible to sleep before 3 am.. they have both a dj music club and an outdoor live music area.. both open until 2 am with loud drunk people milling about for another hour.. and this was on a Monday night
