Pros +
- the staff was really friendly
- This is a retro style Hotel. We are staying here on a regular basis whenever we come into Tucson now. We are finding out that the staff is friendly the oatmeal bar is excellent and they're always seems to be some kind of weekend program around the pool
- This place makes you feel at home. It's an older Hotel but the staff makes you feel good and also that the rooms are kept in good condition
Cons -
- Having coffee in the name, we expected something better. The coffee was no better than standard hotel room coffee.
- This trip our room at 3:21 had a sticky floor for some reason when our shoes were on but could not feel it when we were barefoot. They are also not putting wash rags in the bathroom and this we do not understand
- The beer and wine bar along with the oatmeal bar every morning or a plus

The beer and wine bar along with the oatmeal bar every morning or a plus
Hotel McCoy felt right at home to us! We loved the art and activities, the social scene was warm and welcoming, the beds were very comfy. The perfect unconventional roadside stop on our road trip to remind us of our own community back in OR.
Nothing. McCoy Hotel is not a hotel, but rather an old motel that has been updated with paint and new roof. Very, very disappointed I had booked this motel for 3 people and 3 rooms expecting Something more in line with the 9 out of 10 rating quoted.
Everything.
unique experience and quieter than expected and laundry!
Wonderful aesthetic and staff (so friendly and helpful). The breakfast and bar were great and the pool was perfect for our girls. Also, the local recommendations in the welcome guide were spot on.
Loved the vibe of the place. Was able to meet our large group either inside or outside by pool and enjoy a beer from the bar. Staff was very friendly. Great location close to hiking, biking trail to downtown.
Could use a couple of new bikes to take on trails. I appreciate that they were free but not easy to ride bike with wobbly tires.
Dismissive hotel holding on to...
Poor communication, no housekeeping services completed after multiple requests, dismissive front desk staff for concerns that stated we should go elsewhere if we didn’t like their service. Refused reimbursement for unused days when we did go elsewhere.
It’s very convenient for traveling. Cool vibe with throwback decor. Supports local artists.
Atmosphere, beds are comfortable, quiet, heated pool, bar
The vibe is amazing plus it's a fragrance free and eco friendly motel. It belongs in Austin!
The scent diffuser in the lobby bathroom. No need to spread petroleum by-products in the air, even in the bathroom.
Location is great.
We arrived a bit early at 1pm, I asked if we could check in early as he informed me he had a room ready, but had to pay 27.00 extra. I have airbnb properties for rent also and as a courtesy we always inform our guest they're welcome to check in early for free, if location has been ready. I was not impressed by the breakfast neither.
I appreciate the heated pool and breakfast.
I was not impressed with the front desk service. The concrete floor in the room was not comfortable. I wish there was noise reduction in room walls as you can hear the freeway. The location is close to the freeway.
Perfect location for a nights rest while traveling. This place is a destination. Plenty to see and do right in the lobby .Clean, comfortable, beautiful place . I would highly recommend Hotel McCoy to any travelers in the area .
I enjoyed the breakfast. Everything I needed was in the room. This motel had beautiful murals on the walls.
The room was quite clean, but there was trash under the bed. The staff didn't seem friendly to me; they didn't even respond to my greeting, and I didn't see a single smile.
If modern "luxury" hotels feel like sterile glass boxes to you, do yourself a favor and pull into this motor inn. It is a rare, vibrant pulse in a world of boring chains—a true old-fashioned roadside gem that has been reimagined without losing an ounce of its original grit or character. The Atmosphere & ArtFrom the moment you kill the engine, the vibe hits you. It’s a love letter to the American road. The walls aren't just decorated; they are curated. Local art and bold installations turn every corner and walkway into a gallery walk. It feels less like a lobby and more like a creative sanctuary where the aesthetic is as sharp as the service. The Drink: Coffee & Craft BeerThey’ve mastered the two most important liquids for any traveler. The coffee program is serious—no watered-down lobby pots here. It’s high-end, third-wave quality that actually earns the "good morning" title. And when the sun goes down? The transition to the beer selection is seamless. They’ve clearly hand-picked a tap list that highlights the best local breweries, making the courtyard the ultimate spot to decompress after a long haul. The BreakfastThe morning spread is the final "mic drop." It’s an honest, hearty, old-fashioned breakfast that feels homemade rather than processed. It’s the kind of meal that fuels a full day of driving, served with a side of genuine hospitality that you just can’t corporate-train into people.
Available for local restaurants and eateries.
The location is very unique, if you're looking for a memorable stay this checks off the boxes. The oatmeal bar was a fun breakfast option. We loved that this hotel was dog friendly and has a designated area for them to relieve themselves. Check-in and check out was very straightforward and easy. The room is small but cute and includes basic amenities. The window can be opened for fresh air. Location was convenient for seeing nearby attractions and the national park.
The only downsides to the room were roaches and maybe the bed. The room was generally clean but we did find 3 cockroaches that were already dead in the bathroom when we checked in. I was surprised since this location has such great reviews but my partner reminded me that the area may just have a lot of roaches. The bed was decent just not as comfortable as other locations at similar price ranges.
Love all the art! So close to the Arena. The pool really is heated!
Heat/AC system.
How amazing to have an artsy, hip hotel that’s affordable! The staff were SO friendly and helpful, the room was adorable, the bed was comfy and there were so many thoughtful details, from the free drink to the pinball room. Couldn’t recommend enough!
