The location was convenient. The suite was clean and very spacious. I loved the large vanity in the bathroom and that it was all one closed room instead of having a separate shower/toilet room.

Worst place I have ever stayed
There wasn't anything to like about this hotel. It was being restored and shouldn't have been accepting guest. It was run down and looked abandoned. The sign didn't identify it by its advertised name. I would have asked for a refund, but none allowed.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel room 4 to 8 weeks before the King Biscuit Blues Festival in October. West Helena's limited hotel supply means festival weekends often sell out, with rates increasing by 20-40% as rooms fill up. Reserve early and verify room cancellation policies to keep your plans flexible.
- Check Mississippi River and levee forecasts 48 to 72 hours before arrival if visiting in spring or early summer, as rising water may temporarily close riverfront roads in Phillips County. Use official NOAA or USACE alerts for updated conditions, especially if your hotel is near the river or you plan to use local highways.
- Pack EPA-registered insect repellent (DEET or icaridin) between April and October, when mosquito activity is high near the river and wetlands. Many hotels offer screened windows or air conditioning, so request these features when booking for comfort and protection.
- Contact your hotel before arrival to confirm 24-hour front desk or self-check-in options, as some independent properties in Helena-West Helena have limited staffing after 22:00. Ask for late check-in codes or instructions if you expect to arrive at night to ensure access.
- Request a ground-floor or first-floor room if step-free access is required. Many older motels in West Helena were built before elevators were standard; confirm accessible room options or ramp availability at booking for mobility comfort.
- Carry $15 to $100 cash and check with your hotel and nearby businesses about card payment acceptance. In some small Mississippi River towns, independent vendors may limit card use or process cards only during peak hours, especially outside festival weekends.
