Nice spacious Apollo room, garage parking, close to Munich airport, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
The breakfast buffet is so good and has so many different things. We enjoyed it very much.
An excellent (I mean excellent) choice breakfast buffet was included. We stayed two nights and found the best bed during a 15 day Germany trip. Great before flying out. Very roomy accommodations. Great Roman shower!

Top Tips
- Munich hotels fill quickly for Oktoberfest (September-October) and major trade fairs - rates can increase by up to 50%, and rooms may sell out 3 to 6 months in advance. Book early and compare across top chains for flexible cancellation policies.
- Hotels within walking distance of Munich Airport terminals, such as Hilton Munich Airport or Novotel, offer step-free access for luggage or mobility needs. Shuttle rides into the city center cost €50-€60 (approx. $55-$65), each way; verify shuttle frequency in advance if arriving late.
- The S-Bahn S1 and S8 lines provide direct service between Munich Airport and the city center every 10-20 minutes, with a typical journey of 40-45 minutes. Explore savings with the Munich Airport City Day Ticket or MVV Group Pass if traveling with others. Tickets are available at station machines or the airport information desk.
- Read recent guest reviews for specifics on Wi-Fi speed, room cleanliness, and street noise, especially for historic hotels where rooms average 15-20 m². Confirm if triple-glazed windows or quiet zones are available for sensitive sleepers, and look for properties with noise-insulation or quiet-area features.
- Standard check-in in Munich hotels starts between 14:00-15:00, with check-out typically by noon. Most chains offer complimentary bag storage; request this service if you arrive before your room is ready. If late check-out is needed, request ahead as fees may apply.
- German law requires a valid passport or EU national ID at check-in. Most major hotels take credit card pre-authorization, but some smaller hotels may request direct payment in cash. Carry both a card and some cash, and verify accepted payment types in advance.
- A local tourism tax (Kurtaxe/Beherbergungssteuer) of €0.90-€2.70 (approx. $1-$3) per person per night may be added to your bill. Ask if this is included in your room rate before booking, especially for longer stays. Some properties exempt children - verify with your hotel.
- Munich enforces quiet hours (Nachtruhe) from 22:00 to 06:00 or 07:00, and midday rest from 13:00 to 15:00. Maintain noise under 50 decibels in public areas and request a room away from elevators, on higher floors, or facing away from streets if sensitive to noise.
- For hotel staff: tip €1-2 (approx. $1-$2) per bag for porters and per night for housekeeping. Restaurant service typically rounds up or adds 5-10% of the bill; check if a service charge is already included. Ask at the front desk if unsure about gratuity expectations.
- While most hotel staff in Munich speak English, using basic German greetings like 'Guten Tag' or 'Guten Abend' can improve your experience. Explore phrase cards or hotel-provided language guides for additional support. Some hotels offer phrasebooks or QR-based translation sheets - inquire at reception.
- Check Wi-Fi details before arrival - complimentary Wi-Fi is standard, but speeds for free plans average 10-20 Mbps. Upgrade to dedicated business lounges or paid plans for guaranteed high-speed access if needed. Confirm if VPN use is allowed for sensitive work.
- Hotel-sauna etiquette in Munich requires guests to use facilities nude and shower beforehand. Towels are often provided but may need to be rented. Verify daily schedule or if sign-ups are needed during busy hours; check which facilities are offered at major airport hotels.
- Contact your hotel directly to confirm accessible features like step-free entry, elevator size, and visual alarms, as some historic buildings have stairs or limited access. Request an accessible room or ground-floor unit when booking. Hotels near the airport typically have better accessibility than city center heritage buildings.
- Room sizes in Munich’s historic hotels average 12-18 m², with larger family rooms or suites available for longer stays or groups. View room photos before booking to confirm layout and space. Use hotel filters to identify room type, and contact the property if unsure.
- Explore Munich Airport’s unique facilities: Airbräu brewery and beer garden, Visitor’s Park with observation mound, and events like the annual Christmas Market. Most attractions are within 400 m of terminal exits; verify hours for your travel dates. Some airport lounges may include event or restaurant discounts - ask at check-in.
