Staff's hospitality was definitely outstanding. Also, the location of the hotel is excellent. It's located in the heart of the city's downtown, and steps away from one of the most recognized transportation means of the state, Pullman de Morelos Terminal.
The location is great central to everything walking. The gardens and pool are beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. An oasis in the central part of town, the staff are friendly and helpful. It is an historic Building feels like staying in a old castle.

Top Tips
- Arrive at Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and allow 1.25-2 hours for the 75-90 km transfer to central Cuernavaca. Shuttle services and ADO buses depart regularly; confirm schedules for arrivals after 20:00. Most major hotels can arrange private transfers on request.
- Choose a hotel within 500-1,200 meters of Jardín Borda or Palacio de Cortés in Centro to reach top museums and dining in under 15 minutes. Staying within this radius reduces taxi expenses and supports easy exploration of local culture and cuisine.
- Use bottled or boiled water for drinking and brushing teeth, as tap water is not potable in Cuernavaca. Many hotels provide complimentary bottles per day; request extra at reception if needed.
- Apps like Uber offer GPS-tracked rides with standard fares. For street taxis, insist on the meter or agree on a fare in advance to prevent overcharges. Ask the hotel concierge for trusted arrangements if you prefer not to use local transit apps.
- Schedule outdoor activities before noon in the rainy season (May-October), as afternoon downpours are common. Bring a quick-dry layer and compact umbrella; many hotels loan umbrellas or provide weather updates at the front desk.
- Check in advance for elevator or step-free access when booking colonial-era hotels, as many have limited accessibility. For reduced mobility, request a ground-floor or accessible room and verify the availability of ramp access or visual alarms.
- Confirm secure parking and associated charges before arrival, because most central hotels offer off-site options billed separately and not included in the nightly rate. Some properties may provide valet service or electric vehicle charging—verify in advance if needed.
- When paying by card, choose charges in Mexican pesos (MXN) and decline Dynamic Currency Conversion to avoid paying 2-5% in conversion fees. Prefer ATMs at major bank branches, using machines inside secure lobbies for lower fees and added safety.
- If working remotely, check that Wi-Fi speed meets 25-50 Mbps for stable video calls, and ask about quiet workspaces. Bring a mobile hotspot or purchase a local SIM for backup. Some hotels offer coworking lounges or business center access—confirm these amenities before booking.
- Book at least 6-8 weeks ahead if staying November-April to secure rates before 20-30% peak season increases. Ask hotels about loyalty member rates or early booking perks during this period.
- Stay at boutique hotels in Centro Histórico for 10-15% lower nightly rates than large chain properties, often with similar amenities. Many boutiques offer personalized local recommendations at reception.
- For a quieter stay, avoid hotels directly adjacent to Jardín Borda; properties a 10-15 minute walk away are typically 20-25% cheaper and less noisy. Request a courtyard room if light sleep is a concern.
- Carry small bills (20-50 MXN) for tipping, as a 10-15% gratuity for hotel staff and restaurants is standard and often cannot be added to the card. Some upscale hotels pool or automate tips, but cash is always appreciated for porters and housekeeping.
- Save 15-20% by booking Monday-Thursday stays, since weekend rates rise with local demand. Many hotels run weekday specials with extra perks.
- For popular events like the International Music Festival in May, reserve rooms 2-3 months ahead to avoid typical 25% price increases. Confirm festival dates each year, as schedules can shift.
- Plan for a 16% VAT and a 2-5% service fee on room rates, so nightly taxes and fees typically total $15 (approx. 255 MXN) per night. Hotels should itemize these charges at booking.
- Centro Histórico reports 10-15% fewer petty crimes than Cuernavaca's outskirts. Store valuables in the in-room safe and avoid carrying extra cash.
- Rainy season power outages (June-October) can affect some areas; about 30% of central hotels have backup generators for charging devices. Ask in advance about generator availability if this is essential for medical or work needs.
- Properties with Green Globe certification, including about 15% of Cuernavaca spas, feature water-saving showers, especially valuable in the dry season from November to April. Ask about sustainability features if these are important for your stay.
- Monday-Thursday stays are 15-20% less expensive than weekends, in line with local leisure travel demand. Combine this with early booking for the best rates.
- Ground-floor rooms tend to stay cooler than upper floors during sunny periods. If you are sensitive to heat, request a ground-floor location or ask about ceiling fans or air conditioning.
- Water shortages may occur from November to May, affecting hot water or pressure in some hotels. Consider properties with modern plumbing or water reserve systems, and review these features in hotel descriptions for transparency.
- Private airport transfers from Mexico City (MEX) to Cuernavaca usually cost $70-120 USD for the 1.5-2 hour trip. Ask if your hotel offers bundled transfer deals or recommends preferred providers.
- A 10% tip for excellent bellhop, housekeeping, or room service is customary, even if service charges appear on the bill. Confirm at check-in if any tips are already included.
- If driving, verify whether onsite parking is monitored or gated, as vehicles left on the street are at greater risk for petty theft. Prioritize hotels that clearly list parking security features.
- Confirm pool heating during December-February, because unheated pools are often too cold for swimming in these months.
- Booking directly with hotels can yield 10-15% discounts or benefits like free breakfast, which are often not available on third-party sites. Check for direct booking incentives when planning your stay.
- To minimize noise from city nightlife, request courtyard- or pool-facing rooms instead of street-facing ones, especially for weekend stays. Add room orientation preferences when reserving.
- In budget hotels, check that air conditioning is functional upon arrival, as older properties may have inconsistent cooling. Hotels should update amenity information online to manage guest expectations.
- For Easter/Semana Santa stays, reserve accommodations at least 3 months in advance due to 30-50% rate increases and rapid sell-outs driven by domestic tourism.
- Book 30-60 days in advance for peak February-April dates and holidays, as rates can rise by 25-40%. Advance booking can bring mid-range hotels down to $80-120 USD (approx. 1,430-2,150 MXN).
- Hotels in Colonia Juárez or Colonia Reforma offer 30-50% lower noise levels compared to downtown, with similar amenities. Consider these neighborhoods if tranquility is a priority, and check walking distances to main sites.
- Many mid-range (3-4 star) hotels include free breakfast worth 170-255 MXN (approx. $9-15 USD) per day. Confirm whether breakfast is buffet or continental style on booking.
- Use ATMs at major banks (BBVA, Santander) for 3-5% withdrawal fees, much lower than the 8-10% at airport ATMs. Withdraw in multiples of 1,000 MXN to minimize transaction costs, and check withdrawal maximums as they may vary.
- Stay near Avenida Morelos for lower petty crime rates and more active police presence than in peripheral zones. This supports traveler safety while providing central access.
