Staff was polite, but the room I had on the 4th floor had no air conditioning, no climate control & couldn't open the windows to vent. Parking is across the street from the hotel. Not sure what the resort fee covered. Hotel is dated. Not worth the $$$

Clean and great location
There are, let's say 4 Tier-levels, D through A (D being truck-stop-type Super 8's and A being St Regis/Waldorf Astoria, C being Choice Hotels and B being the Hilton Garden Spots, Embassy Suites). This is an A; probably a 7/10 at that level. Excellent!
Ease of Parking.

It was great but the hotel is old so the insulation was not the best. My girlfriend was cold but I was fine. I did have to hear her complain an awful lot though...

Top Tips
- Book your hotel at least 2-3 months ahead for winter (mid-December to March) or during July-August events. Room rates in Aspen can increase by 30-50% during these peak periods, and top hotels often fill quickly. Compare rates early to secure preferred locations.
- Pre-arrange airport transfers from Aspen-Pitkin County/Sardy Field (ASE) since taxi and rideshare options are limited, especially after 20:00. Many hotels offer private or shared shuttles ranging from $15 to $50 per person for the 3-mile (5 km) trip; confirm details with your hotel before you arrive.
- Pick your hotel based on planned activities. Downtown properties allow walking to 30+ restaurants and nightlife within 0.5 miles, while Snowmass and Aspen Highlands hotels put you within 200 meters of ski lifts and family amenities.
- Check parking and luggage storage options in advance. Hotel parking in Aspen can cost $40-60 nightly, often with limited spots, so early reservation is recommended. Confirm if your hotel will store luggage for early arrivals or late departures.
- Use local buses and hotel shuttles for efficient transport. Aspen’s RFTA buses run every 15-30 minutes to most ski areas and are free within city limits. Download the 'Transit' or 'RFTA' app to access schedules before your trip.
- Reserve ski storage, valet service, and gear rental in advance. Popular ski hotels may fill ski service lockers and boot warmers ahead of time; ask for reservation details at booking to secure amenities like in-room gear drying.
- Plan for Aspen’s 8,000 ft (2,438 m) elevation: drink at least 2 liters of water on your first day, limit alcohol, and consider a half-day of rest on arrival to avoid altitude symptoms. Seek medical guidance if you have pre-existing conditions.
- Follow standard US tipping: $15 per bag for bellhops, $15 per night for housekeeping, and 15-20% at restaurants. Shuttle drivers and concierges assisting with reservations also typically receive $15 per service.
- Present government-issued photo ID and a major credit card at check-in. International guests will need a passport; some hotels require a credit card pre-authorization up to $200-300 for incidentals. Check your hotel’s vaccination or health policy prior to arrival.
- Leverage hotel concierge services for last-minute bookings, restaurant reservations, and local experience recommendations. Concierges in Aspen routinely arrange mountain guides, Maroon Bells shuttle tickets, and childcare, especially during major festivals.
- Communicate accessibility or special requests prior to arrival. If you need an accessible room, connecting rooms, pet-friendly policies, or allergy-friendly bedding, confirm with the hotel at booking to ensure requests are accommodated.
- For families, book connecting rooms early and ask about hotel-run kids’ clubs or ski school shuttles. Child ski equipment rentals can save $15-20 per day compared to on-mountain rates when reserved in advance.
- Solo travelers benefit from hotels with 24-hour front desks and central locations. Many downtown properties are within 0.3 miles of Aspen’s restaurants and transit. Request safety tips or solo-friendly event recommendations from hotel staff.
- Business travelers should verify high-speed Wi-Fi speed (often 50+ Mbps), on-site workspaces, and early breakfast options. Ask about express laundry or checkout service if on a tight schedule.
- Ask your hotel about arranging local-guided activities, such as half-day hikes to Maroon Bells or river rafting. Many hotels hold reserved spots or access to tickets for high-demand events like the Aspen Food & Wine Classic, so confirm availability at check-in.
- Strong UV exposure at high elevation means sunscreen (SPF 30+), sunglasses, and SPF lip balm are essential year-round. Pack or layer clothing, as evening temperatures drop below 50°F (10°C) even in summer.
- Consider late April-early June or late September-November for rates up to 40% lower than peak periods. Shoulder seasons offer fewer crowds and easier reservations while keeping access to hiking, art museums, and outdoor dining.
