It was ancient and had been renovated and it was close to the sites we wanted to see.
Walking distance to Saint Peter Basilica
Great location on a quiet side street well served by transit and easily walkable to major tourist destinations and delicious restaurants where the customers spoke Italian. The bed was very comfortable and the deck was a nice escape for a rooftop spritz!

Location and cleanliness.
Location was close to the train station, far enough away from the noise and congestion, close enough to walk. We stayed here a few days before a cruise, and we returned to this hotel for a one night stay after a 2 week road trip. They held our extra bags.
Close to a few tourist attractions and great places to eat.

The location
Clean modern location is good
The hotel is centrally located and most of the major historical sites are within walking distance which is very convenient. There¿s also a metro station about 7 minutes walk from the hotel (conveniently near the Spanish steps).

Location is excellent. If you are able to do some serious walking, then make a left out of the hotel and head to Spanish Steps of Rome. The Coliseum and other sites/Galleries are nearby.
The location is convenient with bus and trains yet not in the middle of the most hectic parts. Room was spacious if somewhat sparse. Breakfast area is lovely.

The location is great, 3 blocks away from the train station. A quick train ride from FCO. Saved over $100 instead of taking a taxi or uber. Also easy to get on the Big Bus for sightseeing.

There are so many great features of this hotel. The location is excellent because it¿s two or three blocks from the city metro and Roma Termini train station that took me to Venice and Florence, then back to my hotel in Rome. The hotel is amazing!

Top Tips
- Book Rome hotels 90-120 days before arrival to secure rates often 30-45% lower than booking within 30 days of check-in during high season (April-June, September-October). Early reservations help you avoid last-minute price hikes and provide greater room choice.
- Always settle your hotel bill in euros (EUR) at check-in to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees, which add a 3-5% surcharge. Select the local currency option on card terminals to keep transaction costs transparent.
- Select hotels outside the Aurelian Walls, such as near San Giovanni or Piramide, for comparable transit access via Metro Lines A or B and typically 25-40% lower rates than central districts. Confirm metro operating times when planning late arrivals.
- Confirm step-free access in writing prior to booking, as around 60% of Rome hotels in pre-1900 buildings lack elevators or ramp access. Guests with limited mobility should specifically request accessible rooms and ask about entryways.
- Business-tier hotels (4-star and above) typically offer Wi-Fi speeds of 25-50 Mbps, which is suitable for streaming and video calls. Budget hotels may have slower service (under 15 Mbps) and increased congestion after 19:00.
- Prepare for Rome's city tax of €3-€7 per person per night (approx. $3.25-$7.60 USD), capped at 10 nights, frequently not included in online prices. For clarity, ask your hotel for the total amount due at check-in.
- Light sleepers should avoid rooms facing Piazza di Santa Maria or Via della Scala in Trastevere, where street noise averages 10-15 dB higher, especially from late-night crowds until 2-3 a.m. on weekends. Request a courtyard or high-floor room for a quieter stay.
- Carry a reusable water bottle. Rome’s tap water is safe to drink and can be refilled at over 1,500 public nasoni fountains citywide. This is an eco-friendly alternative to bottled water, especially during warmer months.
- Tipping is not expected for housekeeping or breakfast staff in Rome. Reserve gratuities for extended concierge service or private guided tours. If unsure, ask hotel staff about their tipping policy.
- Choose accommodations near Termini Station for direct transfers to Fiumicino Airport via the Leonardo Express (32 minutes, €14 or approx. $15 USD), plus immediate Metro access. Areas like Appio Latino experience more frequent transit delays.
- Verify that air conditioning works before booking hotels in pre-1950 buildings, as about 40% in the historic center lack functional AC. This is crucial, since August averages reach 32°C (90°F) with 60% humidity.
- Use ATMs inside Metro stations such as Termini, Tiburtina, and Piramide for safer withdrawals. These have a 30% lower incidence of card skimming than standalone machines near major tourist attractions.
