Staff was AMAZING!! They bent over backwards to accommodate our preferences. Rooms need a refresh and this hotel is in that process (3rd floor was creepy with all the doors off, the rooms mostly empty, and plastic covering the carpet when I went for ice).
The services
Very quiet, beds are comfy, breakfasts are tasty, gym is adequate, staff is helpful, rooms are large, in room fridge, water heats up right away, shampoo/conditioner/body wash are in large containers on the wall so you don't have to run out & buy your own

Learn about the top neighbourhoods of Phoenix
In the northeastern fringes of the Sonoran Desert, Arizona's capital city overlooks the breathtaking Camelback Mountains. This is a performing arts mecca, with Phoenix Symphony Hall and the Orpheum Theatre for classical music and the Comerica Theatre hosting large-scale concerts. This area north of Downtown Phoenix is named for the venerable Metrocenter Mall, a massive shopping complex with more than 100 stores. Top Tips
- Book hotels 60-90 days in advance when planning to visit during the WM Phoenix Open (late January to early February). Rates at central Phoenix and Scottsdale properties can rise by several hundred percent due to high demand. Compare refundable rates across major hotel brands to maximize flexibility.
- Secure your spring training (Cactus League, February-March) accommodation 30-60 days before arrival. Weekend rates in host cities frequently double, especially near stadiums. Staying along a Valley Metro Light Rail line into Tempe gives direct event access and can lower nightly costs compared to central Scottsdale.
- For airport transfers, the PHX Sky Train connects Terminals 3 and 4 to the Rental Car Center 24/7, with rides every 3-5 minutes. This automated system helps avoid long taxi queues. Before arrival, confirm if your hotel’s airport shuttle picks up at the Rental Car Center stop.
- Choose accommodations near a Valley Metro Light Rail stop (Downtown Phoenix-Tempe-Mesa corridor) for frequent train service every 8-15 minutes. This can help you save $15-$45 nightly on parking and rideshare costs, with step-free boarding across all stations for accessibility.
- Plan outdoor activities early in the day during summer, as July highs average 105-106°F (40-41°C) and monsoon storms (July-September) may cause sudden dust or flash floods. Add 30-90 minutes to your airport transfer during these periods, and check weather alerts daily for safety guidance.
- Expect nightly parking or resort fees at most downtown and resort hotels, commonly $15-$45 per night. Always review your rate breakdown during booking to see total nightly cost, including any required resort package fees.
- Phoenix municipal tap water is safe and treated, but mineral content may affect taste. Request softened water or bottled water at reception if preferred; major hotels often provide complimentary bottles in guest rooms or the lobby.
- Full-service business hotels in Phoenix typically provide faster and more stable Wi-Fi (often 30+ Mbps), while budget motels may offer lower speeds or charge extra. If you plan to work remotely, verify the advertised internet speed before arrival and request a room near the router if signal quality matters.
