I reported the items listed below. The desk clerk responded immediately. A maintenance guy showed up in a few minutes. He discovered someone had mistakenly "daisy-chained" multi-power supplies, wiring ALL the appliances through a wall switch. Great guy!

This hotel is tucked away from the road and in a very quiet country setting. The room was clean and comfy bedding, with fluffy towels and necessary toiletries. Staff members were kind and polite. It seems that this is a two man band...two men did it al

Top Tips
- Book 3-6 months in advance for peak season (May-October), as rates increase 20-30% and availability narrows quickly in Galena's historic center. Planning ahead secures your preferred room type and location.
- Budget for lodging taxes: expect approximately 10% added to your total hotel bill, covering state, county, and city taxes. Confirm if taxes are included in quoted rates before booking.
- Staying on Historic Main Street offers walkable access to over 50 boutiques and restaurants, with typical nightly rates ranging from $200-$350. Consider the trade-off between cost and convenience.
- If you plan to work remotely, verify Wi-Fi speeds. Some hotels specify Mbps or list business center access; request this information directly if not provided online, as speeds vary significantly by property.
- In Galena, car rentals offer flexibility since public transportation is limited and ride-shares may have waits of 15-30 minutes outside peak hours. Arrange your vehicle early if visiting during festivals or holidays.
- Look for packages that bundle rooms with $15 to $100 dining or spa credits, offering potential savings of 10-15% over separate bookings. Check package terms for date restrictions.
- Expect weekend hotel rates (Friday-Saturday) to be 15-25% higher than weekdays, especially during peak events and fall foliage season. Book midweek for the best values and fewer crowds.
- Parking varies: most resorts offer on-site parking at no additional charge, but many historic Main Street inns provide only metered or paid street spots. Confirm parking arrangements before arrival.
- Accessible features may differ. Newer resorts usually provide step-free access and accessible rooms, while historic properties may have limited elevator or ramp access. Contact hotels directly to confirm they meet your needs.
