Good location
Novotel was perfect for a one night stay in Bristol. The parking under the hotel was only £12 for our stay, everything was clean and the buffet breakfast was amazing.
The hotel was in a medium good location, ; 8 minutes from the rail station but about 22 minutes from the cathedral and museum. There was a Tesco about 8 minutes away The hotel had 4 floors and parking. The stagg were very friendly.

Excellent, efficient and fabulously friendly hotel / staff. The atmosphere was that of a family run business. It is a modest hotel with exceptional service. I felt at home the first few hours of my stay.

Top Tips
- For the Bristol Balloon Fiesta in early August, book your hotel 3-6 months in advance; room rates typically increase 50% or more, and popular hotels often sell out in this period. Confirm cancellation policies, as festival dates are fixed but demand spikes can affect flexibility.
- Airport Flyer A1/A2 express buses link Bristol Airport to Temple Meads and the City Centre in 30-35 minutes off-peak. Purchase your ticket onboard or via contactless to avoid queues, and allow extra time at rush hour when taxi rides can take twice as long.
- Bristol hotels do not charge a local tourist tax; only UK VAT (20%) is included in advertised accommodation prices. No separate levy will appear on your bill.
- In Clifton, many hotels are in Georgian or Victorian buildings with limited lift or ramp access. If you need an accessible or step-free room, request it at booking and confirm availability directly, as elevators may not serve all floors.
- Temple Meads hotels are within 8-15 minutes' walk (0.6-1.2 km) of the Harbourside and historic attractions, ideal for travelers prioritizing easy rail and local transit connections.
- Old Market, Queen Square, and Prince Street have vibrant nightlife, with elevated street noise and foot traffic until 02:00-03:00 on weekends. Consider hotels in quieter districts if you are sensitive to noise or traveling with children.
- Many Bristol city center hotels provide limited parking, with fees typically ranging from £15 to £25 (about $19 to $32 USD) per night. Confirm EV charger availability and reserve your spot early if required, as bays fill quickly.
- A 12.5% discretionary service charge is commonly added to restaurant bills in Bristol hotels. Check your bill before tipping to avoid duplication.
- For remote work, ask hotels to provide the actual Mbps speed or a brief connectivity test, since 'business Wi-Fi' speeds can vary by room and occupancy. Confirm this before arrival if stable, high-speed internet is essential for your stay.
