Fairy modern, completely remodeled, everything done, clean and tastefully. The only negative is the pool wasn¿t open. Evidently they are still working on this issue. The location is a little difficult to get into. It¿s off of a major intersecction.

It's location is right by an awesome diner. "Angels" excellent food & service!
The room was clean and comfortable. I didn't have super high expectations considering it was a Motel 6. It was definitely nicer than other Motel 6s that I had stayed in on other trips. Overall, it wasn't bad if you know what you are getting into.

Kind staff
It¿s our go to hotel, Starting to show signs of wear. Sauna been broken for years. Pool out of service. Heater not working. Floor tile fell off bottom of wall near closet on last day.It is always clean, Breakfast is good. Staff is awesome!
Value, not sure the bed was as comfortable as HI Exp, but acceptable. Absolutely pet friendly, hotel appearance was decent except for cigarette butts at entrance. But I¿d say on par with the HI Exp in McAlester, which we¿ve stayed at a few times.

2nd time we've stayed here and the price can't be beat for cleanliness and comfort. Do not expect a 5 star motel for this price, but is definitely worth the price we paid.

Top Tips
- Book your McAlester hotel 2 to 4 weeks in advance, especially for weekend events at Choctaw Casino. Early booking secures rates before demand spikes and can save up to 12% compared to last-minute prices. Check casino event schedules at least a month ahead to compare dates.
- Request a room located away from the casino floor or event areas to limit late-night noise and reduce smoke exposure, as Oklahoma hotels may permit indoor smoking near gaming spaces. Call the front desk after booking to verify your room placement.
- During Oklahoma’s peak severe-weather season (April-June), confirm your hotel’s storm-safety features, such as on-site shelter locations and generator backup. Rapid severe weather alerts are typical in eastern Oklahoma, so review posted evacuation routes on arrival.
- Choose national chains like Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express for reliable accessible options and business-grade Wi-Fi. Request an accessible room or ground-floor location when booking, as availability can vary, especially during peak events.
- Ask your hotel to confirm the incidental credit card hold amount (typically $50-$150) at reservation; this helps avoid unexpected pre-authorization charges on arrival. If you prefer to pay the deposit in cash, verify in advance if this option is available.
- Most McAlester hotels provide free parking to guests, but during major Choctaw Casino or concert nights, policies may change or lots may fill quickly. Check parking restrictions or alternative options with the hotel before arrival, especially if driving a larger vehicle.
- Locate the nearest emergency room or hospital upon check-in. McAlester Regional Health Center is approximately 2.5 miles from central hotels; for urgent care, small-city facilities may arrange transfers to larger hospitals in Tulsa or Oklahoma City if needed.
