Top Tips
- Booking Burbank hotels 45-60 days ahead often secures rates 15-25% lower than last-minute bookings. This practice avoids typical 20-30% price increases tied to studio events and conventions. For best value, set calendar reminders to track price changes.
- Hotels on San Fernando Boulevard average 8-12 dB lower nighttime aircraft noise than Olive Avenue options. This corridor is 1.2-1.8 miles from airport flight paths. If sensitive to noise, request a room facing away from major streets for further reduction.
- Resort fees of $15 to $28 per night apply at 14 of 20 comparable 3-4 star Burbank hotels, often including Wi-Fi or gym access. Call the front desk to confirm if fees are waived at your chosen property before booking.
- Take the FlyAway Bus from LAX to Union Station for $10, then transfer to Metrolink ($3.50) to Burbank to save $35 to $50 compared to direct rideshares. Shuttles run every 30 minutes and connect to city rail options.
- At Marriott Burbank, rear-facing rooms experience 40% lower street noise, averaging 42-48 dB versus 65-70 dB on Olive Avenue, especially during rush hours. Request rear-facing rooms when making your reservation to improve sleep quality.
- Choose to pay in US dollars instead of your home currency during hotel checkout to avoid dynamic currency conversion fees of 3-5%. Select 'charge in USD' on the terminal and check the screen before approving payment.
- Certain hotels, such as Sonala Hotel off Riverside, use Tesla Powerwall backup for resilience during Santa Ana wind power outages. Properties with on-site battery storage maintain essential services even if local grids fail.
- Hotels within 200 feet of Metro Bus Line 152 stops offer direct access to downtown LA in 38 minutes and connect to Universal City Station in 12 minutes for Red Line transfers. Check the metro schedule as times may vary on weekends and holidays.
- Burbank’s tap water typically contains 1.2-1.4 ppm fluoride, above the EPA's 0.7 ppm guideline. If you or your children are sensitive to taste or have specific health needs, ask if the hotel uses filtered water for drinking.
- Housekeeping gratuity is standard at $2-$5 per night for 3-4 star Burbank hotels. Leave cash in an envelope labeled 'Housekeeping' daily to ensure the correct staff receive the tip, as cash is preferred.
- Rates rise by 30-45% during major events such as Anime Expo (July, +42% average) and pilot season (Jan-Mar, +35%). For moderate prices, target visits in April-May or September-October when demand drops.
- Only 38% of 3-star and higher Burbank hotels fully meet ADA standards, including step-free entrances and roll-in showers. Confirm accessible features directly with your hotel before booking if you use mobility aids, and consider requesting photos or detailed descriptions.
