Great breakfast! Love the Dove products in the bathroom. Comfy bed. Plenty of channels on tv. Beautiful pool area.
Staff very helpful, They put up signs on the broken side door to ask guests to close with care as it's broken for a month apparently. Did not really help the noise situation in our room.

We enjoyed relaxing by poool
Open drug use on the property, the room smelled like a wet towel to the point of having to wash unworn clothing when I returned home to remove the smell, the room was filthy, we were unable to get a refund, so we were forced to stay.
The hotel is a two level hotel, we stayed on the ground level. My suggestion to anyone is to stay on the 2nd level, when guest come home at 2am - 3 am you hear everything! I mean everything!! The breakfast was ok if you just like something light.

Dolphins are a common sight in this sunny spot, consistently ranked among the state's best beaches. Stretching for about two miles, the silky sands are popular with beachcombers, and the crystalline waters are full of cruise ships showing off the spectacular sunsets. Head to Shell Key Park to enjoy its nature trail and beach, where sea turtles lay their eggs annually.
You can't get much closer to St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport than in this area between St. Petersburg and Clearwater. On a peninsula dipping down into the Gulf of Mexico, St. Petersburg is connected to the larger city of Tampa by a series of stunning bridges. The city definitely has its artistic side, and its crown jewel is the world-famous Dali Museum, the largest collection of works by surrealist painter Salvador Dali outside Europe. This is a sports mecca, as baseball's Tampa Bay Rays play at downtown's Tropicana Stadium. St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport is 12 miles north, and Tampa International Airport is 19 miles northeast.

Top Tips
- Lock in your hotel at least 2-3 months in advance for Clearwater’s peak periods from November to April and Spring Break. Rates can climb 20-40% as rooms fill up, especially at beachfront properties. Compare available dates for flexibility and savings.
- Beachfront hotels provide direct access to Clearwater Beach’s sand and Gulf views, but expect daily resort and parking fees (typically $15-$40). Downtown and Island Estates hotels, 0.5-2 miles from the main beach, often cost 15-30% less per night and may include additional amenities. Check if your hotel provides beach shuttles or free bikes to offset distance from the shore.
- Before booking, review total costs: Clearwater hotels generally charge a daily resort fee ($15-$35) in addition to a 6% Florida sales tax and 5-6% Pinellas County Tourist Development Tax. Ask for a detailed quote to avoid unexpected charges on arrival. Some resort fees include premium amenities such as beach gear or shuttle services.
- Clearwater is served by Tampa International Airport (TPA, 21 mi/34 km) and St. Pete–Clearwater International (PIE, 12 mi/19 km). Many hotels offer airport transfers, so check if a free or paid shuttle is available, or budget for rideshares ($35-$60) or Jolley Trolley access for local trips. The Jolley Trolley is accessible for guests with mobility needs, but shuttle availability may be limited after 8 pm.
- Request essential amenities directly, such as reliable high-speed Wi-Fi (check Mbps), in-room kitchenettes, or suite upgrades for groups. Most beachfront properties include complimentary beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs with their resort fee. Many major hotel brands in Clearwater offer accessible rooms and can provide visual alarms or ramp access upon request.
- To minimize noise, request a room away from elevators, bars, and pools, especially in high-occupancy resorts where sound carries. Specify your preference in advance for the best chance of a quiet stay. Guests with accessibility needs should request ground-floor or elevator-adjacent rooms, noting the tradeoff with potential noise.
- Tipping standards are $1-$2 per bag for bell staff, $2-$5 per night for housekeeping, $2-$5 for valet, and 15-20% for room service (unless already included). Check your final bill for automatic service charges to avoid double tipping. International guests should note that tipping is customary in the U.S. and often not included.
- Pet policies vary: most pet-friendly Clearwater hotels charge $50-$100 per stay or night, set size limits (typically 40 lb/18 kg), and designate outdoor pet areas. Confirm terms before arrival to avoid extra charges or denied entry. Ask about local dog-friendly beaches or parks and any available pet amenities.
- Clearwater’s summer (June-September) brings strong sun and afternoon lightning storms. Pack reef-safe sunscreen, UV-protective sunglasses, a wide-brim hat, and water shoes. Most local hotels provide or sell basic sun protection items in the lobby; local ordinances encourage reef-safe sunscreen to protect marine habitats.
- Store passports, electronics, and cash in your room safe, especially during peak season or at busy beachfront hotels. Never leave valuables visible in your vehicle, as property-related thefts tend to spike during Spring Break and holiday weekends. Front desk staff at major chains may assist with securing larger items.
- Hurricane season in Clearwater lasts June 1-November 30. If visiting during these months, confirm your hotel’s evacuation protocols and review weather-related rebooking or refund assurances. Consider travel insurance with weather coverage, and enroll in local text alert systems for weather emergencies where available.
- Ask the front desk or concierge about local deals; many hotels supply discount coupons for nearby restaurants, aquariums, or sunset cruises. Explore Pier 60’s nightly artisan and music festival, located 0.5 miles from most major hotels. Staff can provide event schedules and advise on accessible routes to venues.
- Dress codes are generally casual at Clearwater’s beachfront venues, but upscale restaurants and bars may require smart casual or collared shirts, especially after 6 pm. Verify specific venue requirements with your hotel concierge. International guests should know that daytime beach attire is common, but shoes and shirts are typically required indoors.
- Check-in at U.S. hotels requires a government-issued photo ID (passport or driver’s license) and a payment card in your name. Confirm age and payment policies in advance, as the minimum check-in age at major Clearwater hotels is usually 21. If bringing a service animal, review ADA ID or documentation requirements.
- Family-friendly Clearwater hotels often feature large pools, onsite kids’ programs, and proximity (within 1 mile) to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. For adults interested in nightlife, consider hotels near Pier 60’s evening entertainment. Ask if children’s menus or supervised kids’ activities are available at major chains.
- Ask your hotel about booking local experiences like dolphin-watching tours or Pier 60’s sunset festival, held nightly from 6 pm, weather permitting. Many properties can arrange tickets or provide direct shuttle options within 2 miles of the beach. Verify availability of accessible transport or excursion providers if needed.
