Rooms are huge with separate living and kitchen. The breakfast buffet was very good, lots of choices hot and cold with attentive staff. Location perfect for short walk to museums, street vendors and shopping. La Candelaria about 30min walk.
The hotel was nice. The area is shady at night but alive in the morning. Not recommended to be outside after 7pm Monday-Wednesday after Wednesday it's ok per tourist information center
The location is perfect! Everything was walking distance & very secure. Staff is very helpful but, 1 staff member went above & beyond super helpful since the moment we arrived at the hotel. Hopefully y'all get to meet him. Breakfast is delicious!

The breakfast buffet.
Convenient to the airport, good food in the restaurant, reasonable price. I asked the front desk for a wake up call at 3:30 and a taxi ready at 4 for an early flight. Both were done punctually.
Staff are nice, room is clean; very quiet, good sleep

Staff are wonderful. The room is older and had staining, but housekeeping cleaned it well with what they have.
Good location. Due to late arrival they arranged a special pick up at the airport - nice touch! Room very bright and comfortable. Assistance from the front desk to seek medical help was handled with incredible efficiency and professionalism -
Close to airport, very accommodating staff. Located on a main street so getting taxis/ubers was super easy.

Location and airport shuttle service. I ordered dinner from the restaurant, and it was good.

The STAFF very friendy
My flight was rescheduled and it was close to the Airport and offered a free shuttle.. However, the wait for the shuttle was too long, so I had to take a taxi both ways. Which was $10 each way. So not too bad. The staff was nice.
Aloft offered a loft-style experience with modern furniture.

Top Tips
- Choose an official yellow taxi from Aeropuerto El Dorado taxi booths or a designated app pickup zone to avoid unauthorized drivers and inflated fares. Rides to Zona Rosa or Parque de la 93 usually take 20-45 minutes depending on traffic. For extra confidence, request a printed taxi slip at the airport counter.
- Bogotá sits at 2,640 meters (8,660 ft) altitude. Request bottled water and consider a lower-floor room to reduce mild altitude effects the first night. Many hotel chains offer 24-hour room service—confirm availability for additional hydration or comfort needs.
- For evening walks, opt for Parque de la 93, Chico, or Zona T, as these areas have higher hotel and dining density and increased security presence. Limit visits to La Candelaria after 21:00 due to increased petty-theft risks. Always use hotel security contacts for late outings.
- When booking historic B&Bs in La Candelaria, request a step-free or accessible room, as many buildings have stairs and narrow hallways. Major chains in Chico or Usaquén can guarantee accessible rooms, so check listed amenities before booking if step-free access is required.
- Always pay hotel charges in COP (local currency) rather than USD to avoid 2-6% Dynamic Currency Conversion markups. Double-check the payment terminal screen before accepting charges.
- Expect an ATM surcharge at the airport. For larger withdrawals, visit bank branches in Zona Rosa or Usaquén, or check hotel front desk exchange rates, which may be more favorable than airport ATMs.
- Review your restaurant or hotel bill for the approximately 10% 'servicio' fee; tipping is customary only if not already included. Standard local practice is 5,000-10,000 COP (about $1-$2.50 USD) per bag for porters and 3,000-5,000 COP (about $0.75-$1.25 USD) per night for housekeeping.
- If dependable Wi-Fi is essential, confirm the hotel’s advertised bandwidth and whether generator backup is available. Most international chains list these features, while boutique hotels may not. Request a quiet room near central routers if available for a stronger signal.
- Plan stays around the Usaquén Sunday market and holidays, as weekends in December and during the first-Sunday market fill quickly in northern neighborhoods. Book 2-4 weeks in advance to access preferred rates and room types.
- Use registered ride apps like Beat or Cabify instead of street hails, especially at night, to secure your route and minimize fare disputes or safety risks. Confirm the license plate and destination before entering any vehicle.
