The staff was simply amazing. The room was not bad to be honest, you can tell that they have renovated the floors however the bedding and frame looks like prison beds and smelled like sweat. Made it very uncomfortable to sleep with that smell.

Top Tips
- Book 3 to 8 weeks ahead for Fort Benning graduation weekends, as last-minute rates can be 30% to 100% higher due to high demand. Use flexible date searches when possible and consider signing up for alerts to catch rate drops.
- Consider flying into Atlanta Hartsfield Airport (about 100-110 miles, or a 1.5-2.0 hour drive) instead of Columbus Metropolitan Airport (CSG), which has limited regional service. Ask the hotel if airport shuttle, reliable transfer assistance, or ride-share recommendations are available, especially for accessibility needs.
- For lower nightly rates, try hotels along I-185 or Veterans Parkway, typically an 8 to 15 minute (about 5-8 miles) drive to downtown. Many offer easy highway access or free parking, often pricing below downtown properties.
- When booking, ask for military or government rates and confirm ID requirements at check-in, as many Columbus properties near Fort Benning honor them. Some hotels also extend similar rates to first responders, so always inquire.
- If riverfront events or whitewater activities are scheduled, request a room away from the river to reduce noise and street parking demand. Ask about in-room soundproofing or the availability of white-noise amenities to support a quieter stay.
- Bring or request a parking-included rate when driving, since most suburban hotels offer free onsite parking, but downtown properties may charge $15 to $20 USD per night. Confirm EV charging or accessible parking availability before arrival if you need these features.
- Expect hot, humid summers with typical daytime highs of 90-95°F (32-35°C) and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. Confirm that your room has strong, quiet air conditioning and pack light, breathable clothing; if you have allergies or asthma, check if rooms offer hypoallergenic bedding or air filtration.
- For remote work, ask the hotel for measured Wi-Fi speeds (aim for sustained 25-75 Mbps download and 5-20 Mbps upload) or book a business room. Bring a personal hotspot as backup, and check for onsite or nearby coworking spaces or business centers if you need additional workspace.
