Very clean, nice and helpful staff
The room was large. They had a pool. And gym. They had morning coffee for us even though we had to leave before breakfast opened and the staff was very nice. The bed was super comfortable for a good night sleep and nice and quiet I would stay here again.
Spa. Decor. Room service. Room size.

This was the third time I have stayed at this hotel and it will be my last! I have recommended it to family and friends, but no more. We had a very disappointing experience this time and this survey doesn't allow enough room to write all the problems.
Great staff. Clean comfortable room.

Top Tips
- Acclimatize upon arrival, as Quito is at 2,850 m (9,350 ft) elevation. Many hotels offer complimentary coca tea or on-request oxygen tanks to ease altitude symptoms like headache or dizziness in your first 24 to 48 hours. Ask at check-in about availability so you can adjust more smoothly.
- Confirm the total price before booking. Ecuador hotels add 12% IVA (Value Added Tax), 10% service charge, and sometimes a small tourist tax to the listed US dollar rate. Ask for a detailed price breakdown at checkout to avoid surprises.
- Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) is 40 to 90 minutes from downtown, depending on traffic. Use authorized airport taxis or arrange a hotel transfer; official taxi rates are posted at the airport. Check in advance if your hotel offers fixed-fare shuttles.
- Use your in-room safe for valuables such as passports, bank cards, and high-value items. Keep a photocopy or digital image of your passport separate from your documents. If a safe is not available, ask reception about secure storage.
- Check Wi-Fi reliability and speed before arrival if you need strong internet for work or video calls. Ask about business amenities like dedicated workspaces, meeting rooms, or printing—these are often available at chain hotels in business districts.
- Do not drink Quito’s tap water. Most hotels supply filtered water dispensers or complimentary bottled water, which you should use for drinking and brushing teeth. If you need refills, ask housekeeping.
- Learn key Spanish phrases such as "Hola" (hello), "Por favor" (please), and "Gracias" (thank you) for smoother daily interactions with staff. Some hotel front desks offer a local language tip sheet to make communication easier.
- Tipping standards: Bellhops and housekeeping typically receive $1-$2 USD per bag or per day. Some restaurants automatically add a 10% service fee, so check your bill before tipping extra.
- Book your lodging early if visiting during Fiestas de Quito (December 6), Carnival, or Semana Santa, when occupancy spikes and rates can rise up to 30%. Compare refundable and prepaid rates for more flexibility in high season.
- Ask hotel staff for recommendations, as reputable hotels work with licensed tour operators and can arrange early or late-hour transport, licensed guides, or dining reservations. Request printed maps or safety guidance if planning to explore Centro Histórico.
- For families, confirm if cribs/cots, connecting rooms, kid-friendly menu items, or vetted babysitting are available. Plan a slower first day to help with altitude adjustment. For business, clarify if hotels provide invoices ('factura') that meet company reimbursement standards.
- At check-in, present your passport (required for foreign guests) and the credit card used for booking. Many hotels will request a deposit or pre-authorization for incidentals; expect these funds to be released within 3 to 7 business days after checkout.
