We had an amazing time. The amenities the service the food and the personel were perfect. We had a great time and we enjoyed everything single min.The only reason we are not giving 5 star (which we were going to) is due to the taxi partner to PDC(shuttle)

Proximity to the center of town
Location. That said its family-friendly so loud, loud local nearby day club and outrageously expensive for what you get f&b-wise.
You allowed someone to steal my identity and charge $3000 to my credit card.

The Room and Asian restaurant
Specialty Restaurants were spot on. Pools were amazing. Most of the staff were really friendly.
I liked my room and the shower. I just had problems with the locks and the air conditioner and it was hard to get it fixed or change rooms.

Great room, very big and clean.
In my opinion, believe the bad reviews, and approach the positive reviews with caution when considering this condo hotel. Even if it were to be in top condition, it would only be a 3-star property and never a 5-star one, both in the past and present.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left all of the staff were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed out stay and both agree it was the best out of the several other places we stayed on our trip! Brave! The pool is epic as is the jacuzzi.

Nice beach
The only good thing about this hotel was the lunch menu/buffet by the pool bar. Absolutely nothing else.

Tranquil escape with super friendly staff, clean accommodations, and great food/beverage.
The staff is trained with the utmost respect and care for all guests. I am blown away by the hospitality. All the restaurants were delicious and catered to my very specific dietary restrictions! The beach was to die for- beach beds!!!
The beach access and lounge area was beautiful. I loved that they took the time and effort to clean up the seaweed from the shore.

free breakfast. neatness in lobby. staff willing to provide needs.
I had left the Princess all-inclusive resort which was one my worst hotel stays. So bad that I am disputing the charges because for me it was like a prison/rehab center. Mangement took on parental responsibilities beyond normal without my input

The staff was very friendly and they were always cleaning. The place was spotless. The dinner in the restaurant was also very tasty. The best part about this resort is the amazing beach with crystal clear waters.
We loved the nice beach, palm trees, shallow water, nice garden, evening programs, small animals in the garden, friendly people and the expert staff, (Gaby, Maria in the spa and Andy at the bike tour.) We liked the stuff at the beach breakfast place.

Top Tips
- Book Playa Del Carmen hotels at least 5 months in advance for December to April stays, as rates can increase 40-60% in peak season with beachfront rooms especially in demand. To keep flexibility, check the cancellation policy for possible changes in your plans.
- Save on extra charges by booking boutique hotels, as many all-inclusives add MX$340-850 (approx. $15-50 USD) per night in resort fees, while smaller properties rarely require these. Confirm the fee status during booking to avoid unexpected charges at check-in.
- Choose Centro for budget hotels and easier nightlife access; nightly rates average MX$1,020-1,700 (approx. $60-100 USD) and 5th Avenue clubs are 5-10 minutes on foot. Playacar hotels start at MX$2,040+ (approx. $120+ USD), mainly providing a quieter, gated setting.
- Remote workers should confirm Wi-Fi speed with recent test results, since some hotels provide under 10 Mbps even when listing 'high-speed.' Choose properties guaranteeing 25 Mbps or faster to ensure smooth video calls and streaming.
- Pay hotel bills in pesos (MXN) to avoid dynamic currency conversion at poor exchange rates, which can add about 5-8% extra cost if billed in US dollars. Insist on MXN at payment to receive fair rates.
- Skip all-inclusive plans if you want to discover Playa Del Carmen’s local eateries; top taquerias charge around MX$85 (approx. $5 USD) per meal, compared to daily upcharges of MX$510+ (approx. $30+ USD) at all-inclusives. Confirm nearby restaurant and street food options for more variety.
- Request upper-floor rooms during the rainy season (June-October), as ground-floor areas may flood and have higher humidity. Staying higher up helps reduce mold exposure and increases comfort, especially important for guests with sensitivities.
- For airport transfers, use ADO buses from Cancún Airport to Playa Del Carmen; rides take about 1 hour and cost MX$200 (approx. $12 USD), saving over MX$645 (approx. $38 USD) compared to typical taxi fares. Buses have luggage storage and air conditioning.
- Some hotels provide free transport to cenotes, saving about MX$340+ (approx. $20+ USD) per guest. Ask about available cenote access and shuttle times when booking if you plan to visit these unique swimming spots.
- Tip housekeeping daily at MX$20-40 (approx. $1-2 USD), since staff may rotate and this helps ensure consistent towel and amenity refresh. Use local currency when possible for convenience and transparency.
