Top Tips
- Book Leesburg hotels 21-30 days in advance to access rates 12-18% lower than last-minute prices outside event periods. Early booking is especially useful during the region's spring and fall peak seasons.
- Add 14.5% to quoted hotel room rates to account for the combined local and state lodging tax in Leesburg, Virginia. Confirm the final total before booking to avoid unexpected charges.
- Stay along North King Street for a 5-10 minute walk to the historic district and Leesburg Premium Outlets. This central location suits travelers looking to explore the heart of Leesburg on foot.
- Insist on paying in USD at hotel front desks to avoid dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fees, which can add 3-5% to foreign card transactions. Verify the currency before finalizing payment.
- Choose a top-floor room in hotels facing US-7 to reduce nighttime traffic noise by 10-15 dBA. Request room allocation at booking to increase your chance of a quieter stay.
- Use Leesburg’s free public parking at Market Station after 5 PM on weekdays and all day on weekends to avoid hotel parking fees of $15 to $25 per night during town events.
- Check hotel Wi-Fi speed if you plan to work remotely; mid-tier hotels typically offer 35-50 Mbps upload speed, which supports video calls outside peak hours (7-9 AM, 6-8 PM). Confirm speed at check-in if this is a priority.
- Tip housekeeping $2 to $5 per night in a clearly marked envelope for attentive service at Leesburg’s full-service hotels. This aligns with U.S. hospitality customs.
- Ask about resort fees before confirming your reservation. As of Q2 2024, major Leesburg hotels do not charge them, so if you see a resort fee listed, verify with the property as this may be an error.
- Explicitly request step-free access when booking, since roughly 40% of Leesburg hotels built before 2000 lack it even if described as accessible. Confirm with hotel staff for accessible amenities like ramps or visual alarms.
- Bring a reusable water bottle. Leesburg’s municipal tap water meets EPA standards but is rarely served free in restaurants. Refilling at your hotel reduces single-use plastic.
- Expect quiet hours enforced from 10 PM to 7 AM within downtown Leesburg hotels, especially in historic zones. Staff may issue hallway noise warnings to ensure a restful environment for all guests.
