EV chargers. It appeared that non customers were utilizing this "free" service. I could be wrong but what I saw was a mother and children waiting in their car while it charged. Another solo driver was in his car charging. (continued)

Top Tips
- Book early, especially for Utah State University (USU) events or during ski season, as rates can increase by 20-50% on peak dates. Set a booking calendar reminder or use price alert tools to track rate changes.
- Check recent online reviews by guests with similar travel plans, and compare loyalty program reviews on hotel brand sites for extra insight into cleanliness and noise levels.
- Choose hotels near Logan Canyon or the Bear River for quick access to hiking and nature trails, and look for properties with ski storage, guided tour recommendations, or onsite concierge services.
- Logan's airport has limited flights, and the Salt Lake City International Airport is a 1-2 hour drive away. Call hotels to confirm if they offer airport shuttle service or have preferred rideshare options, especially within large chains.
- Quiet hours (typically 10 PM to 8 AM) are common in Logan hotels, and modest dress is expected near religious sites like Logan Temple due to local cultural norms emphasizing family and modesty.
- Pack layers, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle to prepare for Logan's variable weather. Ask about indoor amenities such as a fitness center or lobby lounge for comfort during high heat or snow.
- Local experience partnerships offer discounts at places like the American West Heritage Center or Cache Valley farmers' markets. Inquire at the front desk or concierge for current offers.
- Bring valid government-issued ID for check-in and review Utah’s hotel taxes, which range from 12-15%. Check if the hotel offers digital check-in or express check-out features common in major chains.
- For families, request kid-friendly rooms or pools during online booking. Solo travelers should check for secure entry systems and marked walking paths for added safety.
- Be specific when asking the front desk for recommendations, such as, "Which local hike is best for beginners?" Check whether the hotel app or website offers digital concierge support.
- Confirm parking availability and winter snow removal rules before arrival, especially as many hotels offer free parking but have specific overnight or snow-related policies. If the property has a parking garage, call to confirm elevator or step-free access.
- Renting a car offers the best access to Logan sights like the Scenic Byway and Bear Lake. Loyalty program members can sometimes access preferred rental partners through chain hotels.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID and the card used for booking, as hotels often pre-authorize a card hold for incidentals. Many chains now allow mobile or digital check-in; review your booking email for details.
- Verify amenities important to you, such as Wi-Fi speed, breakfast hours, pool access, or EV charging, since service offerings differ by property.
- Logan sits at about 4,500 ft elevation, so drink extra water and take hiking breaks, especially if you are arriving from sea level. Many hotels offer water stations or bottled water in fitness areas or lobbies.
- Health and COVID-19 policies vary; verify housekeeping practices and mask requirements at booking. Ask about digital check-in and contactless housekeeping options, which are standard at many properties.
- Recreational marijuana is illegal in Utah, and hotels enforce non-smoking policies with fines for indoor use. Always check the property's rules to avoid penalties.
- Tipping norms: bellhops $1-2 per bag, valet $2-5, housekeeping $2-5 per day (left daily), and dining 15-20%. Some chains accept cashless tips via their app.
- To ensure a quiet stay during university events or weekends, request a room away from elevators or event spaces. Loyalty members can often set room preferences in advance.
- If traveling with kids, request connecting rooms, a crib or pack-and-play, a microwave or fridge, or pool access ahead of arrival. Some family-friendly chains offer kids’ welcome kits or activities.
- Solo travelers arriving late should choose hotels in bright downtown areas or near campus, and ask for a ground-floor room near reception or a higher floor if they prefer. Keycard-only elevator access is standard in most national chains.
- Ask about seasonal packages for events like Beaver Mountain ski passes or local festivals, as many hotels offer discounted rates. Check the hotel’s website or app for a deals page.
- Utah applies state and local transient room taxes, typically totaling 12-15%, and some hotels add facility or resort fees. Review your booking confirmation for the total rate and cancellation policy.
- Traveling with a pet? Confirm the pet fee, size limits, and pet areas directly with the hotel. Notify the property in advance if traveling with a service animal, as federal rules apply.
- ADA-accessible rooms, roll-in showers, and visual or auditory aids are available at most hotels, but should be reserved early. Also ask about accessible parking, step-free common areas, and entry.
- Avoid leaving valuables visible in your vehicle, and use the in-room safe for passports and extra cash. Many chains offer secure parking lots or garages onsite.
- Have your photo ID and credit card ready for check-in and confirm the hotel’s arrival time. Print or screenshot directions before you travel, as cell coverage is limited in canyon areas, and most chains now support digital keys in their apps.
- Ask about dining hours, especially on Sundays when many businesses close early or do not open. Full-service chains may have onsite restaurant or room service options available.
- Utah state law restricts alcohol service: spirits and wine are only sold in state stores with limited hours, and restaurants usually serve alcohol only with food. Many chain hotels operate bars in line with these regulations.
