Top Tips
- For September's Pilgrimage Festival, book your hotel 2 to 4 months ahead; for Dickens of a Christmas in late November, reserve 3 to 6 months in advance, as downtown Franklin hotels often sell out quickly due to limited inventory. Confirm your reservation early to secure your preferred location during high-demand local events.
- Hotels in Cool Springs, about 3 to 4 miles south of Main Street, often offer lower rates and free self-parking. For walkability, choose downtown hotels within 0.1-0.5 miles of Main Street, but check parking options before booking as downtown lots may be limited or paid.
- If accessible features or step-free access are needed, request an accessible or ground-floor room when booking historic downtown inns, which are typically converted 19th-century buildings and may lack elevators. Reconfirm room accessibility 48 to 72 hours before arrival to ensure your needs are met.
- Expect live music and increased noise along downtown Main Street on Friday and Saturday nights until 9-10 PM. Select an interior courtyard-facing or higher-floor room if light sleep is a concern, or use in-room amenities like earplugs for added comfort.
- Travel time between Franklin and Nashville International Airport (BNA) is typically 25-35 minutes off-peak (about 21-25 miles), but allow up to 2 hours for early morning or evening flights when I-65 and I-840 are congested. Arrange your airport shuttle or rideshare in advance to help avoid delays.
- Downtown hotels may have limited on-site or valet-only parking with possible size restrictions and fees, while Cool Springs hotels usually include complimentary self-parking. Confirm parking fees, height limits, and policies in advance, especially if you have an oversized vehicle.
- Franklin's tap water is safe to drink, so bring a refillable bottle to save money and reduce single-use plastic waste. Most hotels provide water refill stations or ice machines for guests' convenience.
- Pet fees and pet-friendly room availability vary by property, typically ranging from $15 to $75 per stay or night. Always confirm fees, restrictions, and required documentation with the hotel before booking to ensure a smooth check-in for you and your pet.
- For remote work or video calls, check if your hotel offers wired Ethernet access or a business center when booking, as many downtown boutique properties rely on guest Wi-Fi only. Test the internet speed on arrival and ask for a room closer to the router if connectivity is important.
