Very clean and the staff was great
Clean! Easy access off the Interstate. But in future Best Western might think more about landscaping. All motels, for obvious reasons I suppose, are plopped down in the middle of a parking lot. Why not add some trees and even a park area?
Friendly Stagg, clean hotel.

The Hotel is well kept and the room was very nice. Breakfast was included and well stocked with a decent selection. EZ parking in garage next door. If I have the need to stay in that area again this would be my choice.
The staff were great.; friendly, helpful, attentive and fun. Our room had a slight musty smell. I informed the front desk when I was in the lobby and the person at the desk, immediately followed me up to my room with air freshener and took care of it.

Top Tips
- Rates at national chains nearby typically rise 25-40% during high-demand periods such as the Bloomsburg Fair (late September) and major events at Geisinger Medical Center. Book rooms at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance during these windows to secure availability and optimal nightly rates.
- Many hotels list Danville in the address, but locations may range from Downtown Danville to neighboring towns like Bloomsburg (10 mi), Lewisburg (15 mi), or Williamsport (32 mi). Confirm property address and driving distance to key sites like Geisinger Medical Center before booking.
- Compare direct hotel bookings against travel sites; chains such as Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express frequently offer free Wi-Fi and reward points to direct bookers. Review cancellation policies, as flexible rates permit changes up to 24 hours before arrival at most major brands.
- A car is advised, as public transit options are limited within Danville and to adjacent areas. Major hotel brands typically offer free onsite parking. If visiting Geisinger Medical Center, call ahead to check if the hotel operates a scheduled shuttle, as availability and hours can vary by day and season.
- For extended stays or medical visits, request in-room amenities such as a mini-fridge, microwave, and laundry access, which are standard at many Fairfield Inn, Quality Inn, and Residence Inn properties. Confirm breakfast inclusion and Wi-Fi reliability directly with the hotel.
- Expect Pennsylvania's 6% state sales tax and local occupancy tax (usually 3%) to be added to your room bill. For a $100 base rate, this means paying $109 at checkout.
- Winter lows fall below 25°F (-4°C), with snow and icy pavement at least November through March; sturdy shoes and insulated layers are recommended. Humid summers can reach 85°F (29°C); pack insect repellent for riverfront walks and bring extra water for Knoebels or local trails.
- While Danville's crime rate is below the Pennsylvania average (2023), it is still wise to secure valuables in your room safe and use well-lit parking lots at all major hotels. For heightened safety, request a room on higher floors rather than the ground floor.
- Plan to tip 15-20% for table service at local restaurants. Hotel housekeeping appreciates $15 per room night, while bell staff typically receive $15 per bag moved—these are standard US tipping ranges.
- Most hotels and B&Bs in and near Danville enforce quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM due to proximity to residential streets. Keep TV and conversation volume low during these hours. Ask about enforcement policy at check-in if you have specific needs.
- Ask the front desk for seasonal recommendations. Montour Preserve (8 mi north) offers lakeside trails. Knoebels Amusement Resort (20 min drive) and Danville Historic District host frequent local events and farmers’ markets spring through fall.
- Discover historic charm by booking at a Danville B&B or period property within the Historic District. Several offer river views, homemade breakfast, and easy access within 1 mile of Geisinger Medical Center.
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and credit card, as all US hotels require both for check-in. Expect an authorization hold of $15 per night at major chains for incidentals, which is released post-checkout.
- For Geisinger Medical Center visits, review visitor policy online or by phone before arrival. Requirements on guest entry and medical documentation may change with health advisories.
