Strong good people running it. Restaurant very good. The wood in the room counters were special.
Cute restaurant and right on cute little port
The people that work at the hotel have to be the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. Everyone that works there will go above and beyond and go out of their way to be helpful. Food is cool but no room service after 6:30 and no phone in the room

Staff, food, and service was top notch.
It felt like we were part of a family reunion staying in a large, hospitable home. The food was incredible and the room was new, with great direct tv and a huge comfortable bed. Situated in an area without many hotel options, it was a welcome surprise.

Helpfulness
This is obviously a budget motel, so that's worth considering when rating the experience vs the expectation. My room was spotless, smelled clean, had new bedding and a very comfortable bed. I wanted something cheap and this was above average for the price
The rooms are nice and clean.

Top Tips
- Reserve your hotel 60-90 days in advance for FisherPoets in mid-February and for June-August weekends, as Astoria properties often sell out and rates typically spike within 1 week of major events. Major chains may offer free cancellation or rebooking windows; check program details to keep flexibility.
- Pack waterproof layers and quick-dry shoes for Astoria's frequent rain and marine fog, with summer highs averaging 60-70°F. Many hotels offer onsite laundry or drying cabinets, and some provide umbrellas or rain ponchos upon request—ask during booking.
- Check NOAA tide predictions before walks along the Riverwalk or booking a ground-floor room, as Columbia River waterfront and parts of downtown can see standing water during king tides or winter storm surges. Major chains' ground floor rooms may feature raised thresholds, but verify in advance if weather alerts or flood precautions are provided.
- Request an inland or upper-floor room if you prioritize quiet, as riverfront rooms often experience early-morning horn and engine noise from commercial vessels. Some properties highlight active river views, with decibel levels and soundproofing details available by request.
- Build extra buffer time and check ODOT or WSDOT advisories if arriving via Washington, since the Astoria–Megler Bridge (US-101) sometimes faces high-wind closures or lane restrictions. Many hotel apps offer real-time local travel updates; ask about shuttle or late check-in options if your arrival is delayed.
- Request a step-free, ground-floor, or accessible room when booking to confirm appropriate accommodations. Top Astoria properties may offer roll-in showers, visual alarms, or assistive listening devices on request; inform the staff if you travel with a service animal.
- Confirm whether parking is free, paid, or available for oversized vehicles, as downtown and waterfront hotels often charge per night or limit spaces during events. Loyalty program members at many chains may receive complimentary or discounted parking; check app perks and inquire about height clearances in advance.
- Ask the hotel for measured Mbps download or upload speeds, or run a speed test upon arrival for assurance, since Wi-Fi quality varies. Some loyalty tiers include premium bandwidth upgrades at no extra cost—verify your eligibility before travel and bring a phone hotspot for backup if you need reliable video calls.
- Review your hotel folio for a city or county transient lodging tax, as Astoria properties routinely add a municipal lodging tax to the room rate. Request a detailed tax breakdown at check-in if needed for business travel, or confirm with hotel staff whether quoted rates are inclusive.
