Clean, quiet, relaxing, near a lot of things to do, and really friendly helpful staff. They have wagons you can use during your stay so lugging everything from your car is much easier than expected.
The staff is stellar! I mean every one of them feels like an old friend. The location is so close to many things to do. The site itself is beautiful! Tastefully designed in every aspect! Breakfast is lovely at the club house too!
Got to experience staying in a gorgeous new Airstream

The room itself was super clean and comfy! Loved the breakfast "snacks" set up right outside of our room with tea and coffee and fresh fruit. The homemade (they were still warm) blueberry muffins were amazing!

As touring bicyclist riding the Empire State trail we found this hotel in a safer part of town. One can walk to restaurants and a grocery store is one mile away. Vassar Collage is half a mile away.
Great staff

My fiancé and I was surprised walking in to find the convenience of a stove and big refrigerator. ER did not have to eat out. We brought our god and cooked in or suite.

I was skeptical at first, but this hotel exceeded my expectations. The peaceful creek view added a quaint charm that made the stay special. It?s not your typical hotel, & that uniqueness really stood out. It may not be for everyone, but I truly loved it.
Nice, large television and excellent breakfast!
The only really nice thing about this hotel is that it's on the water and it has a slightly unique look.

Frequently Asked Questions
Top Tips
- Book Saugerties hotels 4-8 weeks ahead for major HITS equestrian events (July-September), as local lodging availability becomes limited. Hotels may offer curated local guides or event shuttles during peak dates.
- Check Opus 40 event dates before booking weekend stays. Traffic increases on concert days, so plan for 5-12 extra minutes for arrival or exit. Some hotels provide on-site dining or shuttle options.
- Choose village-center lodging on or just off Broadway or Partition Streets for walkable access to most restaurants, bars, and the waterfront park within a 5-12 minute walk. Request accessible room options if you need step-free access.
- Base airport transfers on drive time, not just straight-line distance: Stewart (SWF) and Albany (ALB) airports are both about 50-70 minutes by car. Some hotels can arrange shuttle or car rental pickup on request.
- Use Hudson or Rhinecliff Amtrak stations for train access to Saugerties. The town is a 25-45 minute drive or taxi from the station, and many hotels can pre-arrange shuttle or taxi service.
- Check parking and event restrictions if staying in the village, as municipal street parking is limited during Opus 40 concerts and other events. Ask if your hotel offers reserved on-site or accessible parking during these periods.
- Many Saugerties inns are historic buildings. Request a ground-floor or step-free accessible room when booking. Some properties also offer visual alarms or other accessible features upon request.
- For rural or riverside rentals, confirm whether the water source is municipal or a private well if you have sensitivities. Contact the property for up-to-date water filtration and potability information.
- Clarify pet fees before booking at Saugerties inns. Dog-friendly hotels typically charge $15-$50 USD per night and often set size limits. Some hotels also provide dog-walking maps or treats on request.
